LIVERPOOL, England -- Liverpool signed versatile forward Lazar Markovic from Benfica on Tuesday as the Premier League club spends the windfall from Luis Suarezs sale. Liverpool paid 12.5 million euros ($17 million) for Benficas 50 per cent share in Markovic, the Portuguese club said. Details were not disclosed about a deal to buy out the third party owning the other half of the rights in the 20-year-old Serbian. "I hope that I will fulfil the expectations of the supporters, coaches, players and all connected to the club," Markovic said. "I have seen what the players are like, I have seen what the supporters are like, and I cannot wait to start playing here." The playmaker only joined Benfica last year from Partizan Belgrade, and scored seven goals in 49 appearances as the Lisbon side won the domestic treble. Markovic is Liverpools fourth recruit in the summer transfer window, following striker Rickie Lambert and midfielders Adam Lallana and Emre Can into Anfield. Liverpool, which finished second in the Premier League last season, made around $130 million from the sale of Suarez to Barcelona last week. T.J. Like a magic trick, the puck popped out behind Stalock in the San Jose net. While Sharks coach Todd McLellan decried the legality of the tiebreaking goal, the Los Angeles Kings celebrated their latest, greatest escape yet.The NBA suspended Sacramento Kings centre DeMarcus Cousins for one game and fined him $20,000 on Thursday for punching an opposing player and verbally abusing an official in a game earlier this week. The league suspended Cousins for punching Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley in the stomach with 9:44 remaining in the first quarter of the Kings 129-103 loss on Tuesday night in Sacramento. Cousins was fined for verbally abusing official Courtney Kirkland and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following an ejection with 8:21 remaining in the third quarter. Cousins will serve his suspension when the Kings visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. New Kings owner Vivek Ranadive had hoped Cousins could clean up his act when he signed the centre to a four-year, $62 million contract extension before the season. Instead, Cousins leads the NBA with 15 technical fouls this season and will be suspended one game by the NBA if he gets another one. The last two seasons Cousins has needed to have a technical foul rescinded by the league to avoid the automatic suspension that comes when a player reaches 16 technicals. In the Houston game, Cousins was called for a technical after getting whistled for a foul against Dwight Howard and arguing against it. Cousins picked up his fifth personal foul moments later, then got called for another technical foul -- earning an automatic ejection -- after screaming in the face of Kirkland during a timeout.dddddddddddd Cousins had to be held back by coaches and teammates, pointing his finger and screaming at Kirkland. He flicked his headband into the stands on his way to the locker room. Cousins has since apologized for his behaviour, which has become a troubling trend through his career, even going back to high school and his one season at Kentucky. The 23-year-old centre has mixed in dramatic and astonishing plays with outbursts against players, coaches and referees. He has dazzled at times during his first four NBA seasons, and at other times struggled with defence and discipline. Last season alone, Cousins drew multiple reprimands for his behaviour. He was suspended one game without pay by the NBA for striking O.J. Mayo in the groin during a loss at Dallas. Following a defeat at San Antonio, the league suspended Cousins two games without pay for confronting Spurs announcer Sean Elliott in a "hostile manner." Finally, the Kings suspended Cousins for one game for "unprofessional behaviour and conduct detrimental to the team" after he shouted at Kings coach Keith Smart in the locker room during halftime of a loss at the Los Angeles Clippers. His behaviour aside, Cousins is having the best season of his career and is blossoming into one of the NBAs best big men. Hes averaging career highs of 22.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Hes also shooting a career-best 48.3 per cent. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- New York Yankees right-hander Ivan Nova has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow, an injury that often requires Tommy John surgery. Nova left Saturday nights game against Tampa Bay in the fifth inning. An MRI after the game revealed the injury and he was placed on the 15-day disabled list. "Its hard," Nova said. "I really dont know what to say. Im sad right now." Nova will be further examined Monday in New York by Yankees team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad. He had no discomfort in the elbow until his 82nd and final pitch Saturday when he felt a pop. If Nova needs elbow-ligament replacement surgery he could be sidelined more than a year. "Usually when you have that (tear), it eventually leads to that," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. David Phelps, Adam Warren and Vidal Nuno, started and threw five shutout innings Sunday against Tampa Bay, are in the mix to replace Nova. Alfredo Aceves is starting in the minors for the Yankees at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees also, as expected, reinstated first baseman Mark Teixeira from the 15-day disabled list and he was in the starting lineup for Sundays game against Tampa Bay. Teixeira hurt an adductor muscle that runs alongside the hamstring trying to make a play on a foul grounder during an April 4 game against Toronto. New York recalled right-hander Preston Claiborne from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and right-hander Bryan Mitchell from Double-A Trenton. Infielder Scott Sizemore was optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, while reliever Matt Daley was designated for assignment. Closer David Robertson, on the DL with a groin strain, is expected to rejoin the team Tuesday. Robertson felt discomfort April 6 in the ninth inning of a 6-4 win over Toronto and was placed on the disabled list. Semin scored two goals in the third period to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. It was Semins first two-goal game with Carolina, which signed the Russian forward in July 2012, and then gave him a $35 million, five-year extension last March. His seventh and eighth goals of the season came a day after general manager Jim Rutherford told a local TV station that he was disappointed in Semins production. "Hes one of the best talents in the world, and when he plays hard, hes one of my favourite players to watch," teammate Riley Nash said. "Its a real treat to watch him, especially the way he played tonight." Semin has been criticized for not playing hard at times, but he had eight shots against Florida and finished with a plus-two rating. Semin rarely speaks with the media and declined to talk once again after the victory over the Panthers. The teams were tied at one until Semin took control of a faceoff win by Eric Staal and shot past Tim Thomas at 2:31 of the third. He then scored Carolinas league-leading ninth short-handed goal on a breakaway at 8:57, also on an assist from Staal. The Hurricanes ended a two-game skid and improved to 6-2 in their last eight. The Panthers got a goal from Dmitry Kulikov with 5:39 remaining but Anton Khudobin held on from there, finishing with 37 saves in the win. Florida went 0 for 5 on the power play while falling to 7-29-4 at Carolinas arena. Nash broke a seven-period scoring drought for the Hurricanes at 3:37 of the second. Radek Dvorak speared thee puck when it appeared headed out of the offensive zone and fired toward the net.dddddddddddd Nash kicked it to his stick and scored past Thomas. Marcel Goc scored his ninth of the season for Florida at 15:05 of the second, tying it at 1. Jonathan Huberdeau and Tomas Kopecky assisted. "Its 1-1 in the third, and we have to get points in those games," Florida coach Peter Horachek said. "We created chances to score that weve got to bear down on." Khudobin improved to 7-2 this season. Thomas had 36 saves for Florida. The Hurricanes put pressure on Thomas midway through the first period, but the veteran turned away eight shots in four minutes after penalties to Huberdeau at 6:22 and Ed Jovanovski at 8:27. Florida continued to be hindered by its punchless power play. The Panthers failed to convert on 10 power-play minutes Saturday and are 0 for 32 on the man advantage since Dec. 28. The Panthers failed to score in the second after Kopecky drew a double-minor on Dvorak. During the man advantage, Tomas Fleischmann fanned on one solid scoring chance and Kulikov hit the left post. NOTES: Carolina was shut out by Columbus and Calgary in its previous two games. The Hurricanes last suffered consecutive shutouts in November 2011, losing 4-0 at Montreal and 1-0 at home against Buffalo. ... The Panthers fell to 8-13-3 on the road. ... Jimmy Hayes, Mike Mottau and Scott Gomez were scratches for Florida; the Hurricanes held out Ryan Murphy, Drayson Bowman and Brett Bellemore. ... One day after posting his second consecutive Olympic shutout and winning gold with Team Canada in Sochi, Carey Price was already back with the Montreal Canadiens. Price addressed the media at the teams practice facility in Brossard on Monday and said that the relief and satisfaction from winning Olympic gold will be short-lived. "The pressure is off for now." he said. "It will last until probably the next game." When asked about his teammate P.K. Subban dressing just once for Canada at the Olympics, Price commended the Norris Trophy winner for putting the team ahead of himself. "He definitely carried himself very well," he said. "He handled himself with the utmost professionalism." "It was a complete effort from everybody, no matter what position guys were put in," Price added. "Everybody contributed in some way and I think that was probably the most special feeling. Because everybody out on that ice when our anthem was played had a part in it in some way." Price did not participate in the Canadiens Monday practice and will also have Tuesday off. Price said he does not know when hell return to the net for the Canadiens, but said Team Canada head coach Mike Babcock jokingly encouraged him to have "a few more beers" after the teams gold medal victory. Koehler retired 15 in a row during one stretch and pitched six innings Wednesday, helping the Miami Marlins beat the fading Phils 5-0. "He was warming up and pitching like she was going to give birth any second," said Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who hit a two-run homer in the ninth. Koehler (6-6) left the ballpark immediately after the game. The Marlins placed him on paternity leave and said his wife, Ashley, was expected to deliver their first child -- a daughter -- by Thursday morning. "Big news," manager Mike Redmond said. "Were excited about that, and glad he got a big win on a big day for him and his wife." Casey McGehee reached base three times, doubled home a run and scored another to help hand the Phillies their sixth consecutive loss. The Marlins, who lead the majors in home victories, clinched the three-game series and improved to 27-21 at Marlins Park. Cole Hamels (2-5) gave up three runs and needed 97 pitches to get through five innings, ending his career-best 10-game streak of pitching at least seven innings. "I wasnt getting ahead of guys," Hamels said. "Then, when I had to throw a strike, I left it up in the zone in a place where they were able to make solid contact." Hamels, a victim of poor run support all season, remained winless since June 6. The Phillies were shut out for the 11th time, which is tied for second-most in the majors. "Its hard to believe," manager Ryne Sandberg said. "Maybe its a pressing situation. We need somebody to get it going -- everybody to feed off of somebody coming through." The Phils matched their longest losing streak of the year and fell 12 games below .500 for the first time. Philadelphia reliever Mario Hollands took a sharp grounder off the left knee for a singgle in the ninth, gave up Saltalamacchias homer and a double and then left the game accompanied by a trainer.ddddddddddddAfterward, he said he was fine. The homer snapped Hollands streak of 18 consecutive scoreless innings. Koehler allowed three hits and earned his first victory since June 4. Three relievers completed a five-hitter. Ben Revere and Jimmy Rollins started the game with singles, but Koehler didnt allow another baserunner until the sixth. The Phillies first two batters also reached in that inning, but again they failed to score. They went 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position. The Marlins took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on a bases-loaded single by Donovan Solano. They added two runs in the fifth on RBI doubles by Ed Lucas and McGehee. McGehee increased his hits total to 100, hiked his average to .312 and reached base for the 26th game in a row. He has revived his career after spending 2013 in Japan, but he said hes not about to rest on his accomplishments since joining the Marlins. "Its half a season," he said. "Ive seen how quick things can change. Ive got to keep going every day. If you start patting yourself on the back, this game has a nasty way of reminding you youre not bigger than the game. Itll hunt you down." NOTES: Marlins LHP Brad Hand (0-1, 6.38) will come off the disabled list to start Thursday against Phillies RHP Kyle Kendrick (3-8, 4.22). ... Philadelphia OF Domonic Brown went on the paternity list, and hes expected to rejoin the team this weekend in Pittsburgh. OF Aaron Altherr was recalled from Double-A Reading. ... The Marlins recalled INF Justin Bour from Triple-A New Orleans. ... Phillies LHP Cliff Lee (elbow) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Class-A Clearwater. After 26 races, seven months and one unprecedented penalty, NASCARs regular season has come to an end. The Chase for the Sprint Cup begins in Chicago this weekend as 12 drivers have moved one step closer to the circuit crown. In handicapping the Chase, its important to remember that the playing field is once again level. All 12 qualified drivers now have an equal shot at the Cup, regardless of how many races they have won or lost up to this point. So, who do you like? Jimmie Johnson was the first to clinch his chase spot, doing so over a month ago at Aug. 11s Watkins Glen International. Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth have had their berths clinched for a couple weeks and have likewise been able to cruise through the final races prior to the Chase. Kyle Busch qualified by winning Atlanta two weeks ago and was joined that same night by Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne, leaving five spots up for grabs in Richmond. The field was filled out on the final weekend before the Chase with: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, Greg Biffle and - at the time - Martin Truex Jr. Truex may have been the sentimental favourite as he fought valiantly down the stretch, driving with a broken right wrist, but he was removed from the Chase by NASCAR officials after initially securing a spot when his Waltrip Racing teammates Clint Bowyer and Brian Vickers apparently manipulated the outcome of Saturday nights Richmond race under orders from the team. The penalty vaulted Ryan Newman into the Chase by virtue of wild card qualification. When looking for who has the inside track, history can tell us a few things. The first, as always, is dont overlook Johnson. Number 48 has five Sprint Cups under his belt and was far and away the best driver for much of the 2013 campaign. After two years on the outside looking in, he could be hungry to add a sixth Cup to his trophy case. Bowyer - last years runner-up - may be eager to conclude some unfinished business. Bowyer, like Johnson, narrowly missed the Cup last season by virtue of two disastrous sub-20 finishes during the Chase that marred an otherwise excellent run. Kenseths five checkered flags this season are tops heading into the Chase but last years season ended on an inconsistent note. While Kenseth won two of the 10 Chase races, he was unable to crack the top 10 in all but one of the others, leading to a disappointing seventh-place finish. Kyle Busch is something of a wild card. He locked up his spot by winning Atlanta and has taken two of the last five checkered flags. However, the last time he was in the Chase in 2011, he finished last amongst the top 12, reaching only one podium. His brother Kurt has been good entertainment all year, even if he hasnt won many friends. He got into a shoving match with Tony Stewart and caused a seven-car pile-up. In the meantime, hes been a Jekyll and Hyde performer. Heading into Richmond, Busch had finished top-10 in 11 of his last 18. That said, hed also finished lower than 30th three times over that same span. Kurt is one of just four drivers to have successfully navigated the Chase, so he could be out to surprise. Fans will also be eager to see if Dale Earnhardt Jr. can finally return his family name to the Championship conversation after three straight unsuccessful Chases. Junior remains one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR, but many still await his big breakthrough. Logano has earned his slot through consistency. While he only has one checkered flag this season, he has essentially lived in the top 10 since Indianapolis including a pole-checker double at Michigan.Biffle, too, is a driver who shouldnt be overlooked, as hed have long ago locked up his spot had it not been for a disastrous spring that saw him finish in the 30s three times between Richmond and Charlotte, dropping from fourth to 13th in the standings in the process. Newman, for his part, is back in the Chase for the third time in five years and may be eager to make good on the chance hes been given to compete thanks to the Truex penalty.Last year Brad Keselowski took the Chase by surprise, entering it in seventh but then winning Chicago and holding tight the rest of the way with the aid of two duds from Johnson in the final weeks. Will this year have another dramatic finish? Who do you like? As always, its Your! Call. Delanie Walker Jersey. Lynch took questions for about 7 1/2 minutes during the morning session, his longest such stretch this week. He talked for less than 7 minutes at both media day on Tuesday and the media session at the team hotel on Wednesday. "Its going to be good to get back to football," Lynch said. "Real good." Lynch limited his answers to football-related questions, all with Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson by his side. Robinson joked as he sat down that he was just a prop. Lynchs aversion to speaking with the media had become a major focal point as the Seahawks started their preparations for Sundays game against Denver. While Seattle was getting attention last week for the comments made by Richard Sherman during the NFC championship game, this week it was about Lynchs reluctance to open his mouth. His teammates were supportive of their teammate wanting to stay quiet. "I think he shouldnt have to do everything that he doesnt feel comfortable with," Sherman said. "But myself, Im fine with it. I enjoy it. I enjoy getting the message out that I want to get out, and I enjoy supporting my teammates. The great Marshawn Lynch, I think his game speaks for itself.dddddddddddd It says enough for everybody to talk about for weeks and weeks." Even with only talking for a few minutes, Lynch managed to make an attention grabbing statement. Asked what he thought about assistant head coach Tom Cable when he arrived in 2011, Lynch made reference to a reported incident with an assistant coach when Cable was Oaklands head coach in 2009. "Well, being from Oakland, all I knew about him was that he punched people," Lynch said. "Thats my type of person." It was unclear if Lynch was joking or being serious with his comment about Cable. Some of Lynchs best games have come in the post-season. He has four 100-yard rushing games in six career post-season games. He ran for 140 yards in the divisional round win over New Orleans and had 109 yards in the NFC title game against San Francisco. "Im not sure man. Its not like I prepare any different. I couldnt tell you," Lynch said. Lynch was also asked about Denvers defence and its focus on trying to shut down Seattles run game. The Broncos have allowed one back to top 100 yards rushing this season. Lynch made sure to point out defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, nicknamed "Pot Roast." "Big boy," Lynch said. "They get to the ball. They run into the ball. Theyre a good defence, thats what I say." Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Darius Carter had 18 points and 11 rebounds to guide No. 11 Wichita State to a 77-68 victory over Detroit on Saturday. Ron Baker had 19 points and seven rebounds while Fred VanVleet gave 11 points, eight boards and seven assists for the Shockers (7-1), who have won their past three. Juwan Howard Jr. scored a game-high 27 points while Matthew Grant and Paris Bass each had 12 for the Titans (6-4), who had won their previous two. The Shockers jumped out of the gate and held a 16-5 lead five minutes in after Carter put in a layup. Wichita State led throughout the first half, but Detroit was able to keep the game close and made it a three-point game several times. A 3-ball from Howard inside the final minute cut Detroits deficit to 33-31, but Carter countered with a jumper near the buzzer for a four-point lead going into the break. A 10-0 run from the Titans early in the second half gave the team a 43-37 lead after Grant put in two from the line just over four minutes in. Detroits lead had reached 10 a few minutes later, but Wichita State was able to slowly chip away at the lead and a 3-pointer from Tekele Cotton gave the Shockers the lead for good at 63-60 with just over five minutes to play. The Titans were within five after Howards layup made it a 73-68 contest inside the final minute, but the Shockers hit their free throws the rest of the way. The six-foot-two, 200-pound defender may not possess the wow-inspiring theatrics of fellow prospect Morgan Rielly, but nonetheless has a chance to contribute with the Leafs when all is said and done this season. K. The victory was worth 10 points for Upstart to enter the Kentucky Derby on May 2. The 3-year-old now has a total of 16 points trailing just El Kabeir and International Star, each with 21 points. We were pretty confident that he was going to run well, Violette said. You just hope that the talent he showed as a 2-year-old transfers into a good 3- year-old, and a lot of horses dont. Theyre a little more precocious, a little more mature as a 2-year-old, and sometimes thats their best stuff. You hope to see the graduation, and I think we saw it. We could do the Fountain of Youth (at Gulfstream on Feb. 21). If we need a couple more weeks, we could wait ffor the Gotham (at Aqueduct on March 7).dddddddddddd We have a two-week cushion and at some point well get to use it. Whether we go the whole route here (at Gulfstream) and go Fountain of Youth and Florida Derby (March 28) to give us a little extra time to get to the Kentucky Derby or if we need it before then and he stubs his toe or doesnt eat, we can back off and do either the Gotham or the Wood Memorial (at Aqueduct on April 4). We have some flexibility, which is really nice. Tied with 14 points are Carpe Diem and Calculator followed by Texas Red (12), Mr. Z (12), Far Right (12), Ocho Ocho Ocho (10), American Pharoah (10), Daredevil (10), Dortmund (10), Leave the Light On (10) and Lucky Player (10). Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Dwyane Wade scored 19 points with 11 rebounds and seven assists, and the Miami Heat continued their dominance over the Toronto Raptors with a 107-102 win on Sunday. Chris Bosh tallied 21 points with 11 rebounds and four assists for the Heat, who have opened the season with three straight wins for just the fifth time in franchise history. Luol Deng and Shawne Williams netted 18 and 16 points, respectively, in the victory. Toronto, which had its two-game winning streak snapped, may have wanted a different opponent to keep its unbeaten start to the season going. The Raptors have now lost 16 straight to the Heat, including 10 in a row in South Beach. DeMar DeRozan paced the visitors with 30 points, while Kyle Lowry finished with 22 points and Jonas Valanciunas added 14. Tom Savage Jersey. scored 18 of his career- high 28 points in the first half, as fifth-ranked Ohio State dominated No. Nick Martin Jersey. The Oilers have been shut out in three straight home games and are in last place in the Western Conference with a 4-14-2 record. "Things have obviously not gone as well as I would have thought probable.TORONTO -- Just 13 weeks after walking away from his title, Georges St-Pierre is not forgotten. But he is devalued. Once ranked among mixed martial arts pound-for-pound elite, the former UFC welterweight champion from Montreal is finding past glory doesnt last long. Fighters have short memories. So do fans. "I cant think backwards," said top 170-pound contender Johny (Bigg Rigg) Hendricks. "Ive got to think forwards. "Look at our division. Its a pretty stacked division. Very talented people in the top 10 and now that Georges has walked away, its time for one of us to make our own mark." Hendricks, who lost a controversial split decision to St-Pierre at UFC 167 last November, gets another shot at the welterweight crown March 15 when he faces veteran (Ruthless) Robbie Lawler at UFC 171 to decide St-Pierres successor. The 32-year-old St-Pierre vacated the title in December, saying he needed time away from the sport. St-Pierre (25-2) left a 12-fight winning streak and a string of UFC records behind him. But his last seven victories came by decision. And in a sport that celebrates sudden, violent finishes to fights, going the distance is not a plus. While some saw only St-Pierres ability to blunt his opponents strengths, others criticized the champion for not taking risks. Facing St-Pierre was death by a thousand cuts. Fighters like Hendricks and Lawler offer one-blow blunt force trauma. In MMA, youre only as good as your last fight. And St-Pierres last offering was gritty but unconvincing. Hendricks (15-2) told a media conference call Thursday that he sees Lawler (22-9 with one no contest) as a more dangerous opponent that St-Pierre. "Georges, you knew that he was going to throw a jab, a high kick, a low kick and try to take you down," he said. "Thats his game plan. "Robbie, if you make a mistake, weve seen it time and time again that he can knock you out. So you really have to make sure that you stay focused, cross all your Ts and dot all your Is, and make sure that you stay solid. And thats a lot more dangerous fight. "With guys who can knock people out, youre one punch away from losing. But those are also the more fun fights for me. You dont know whats going to happen. All you know is youre going to step into an Octagon and hopeefully you get your hand raised.dddddddddddd" Carlos (The Natural Born Killer) Condit, one of the more thoughtful fighters in the UFC, said GSP leaves "some big shoes to fill in one respect." Then Condit (29-7), who lost a decision to St-Pierre at UFC 154, agreed with Hendricks on GSP. "I think people have wanted to see a little bit of excitement," said Condit, who dragged St-Pierre into rare deep waters with a head kick when they fought. "And I think Georges, from time to time, later in his career he had some spurts of excitement. But for the most part people kind of knew what was going to happen. "And now the division has been infused with some energy. Theres a lot of buzz -- you know, whats going to happen? Theres a lot of really really tough guys bottlenecking at the top spots of welterweight. "I think its an exciting time. We all get the opportunity to get in there and try to put that welterweight belt around our waists. Its just a perfect storm. The fans ultimately are going to be the ones that benefit with some really really exciting fights." The 30-year-old Hendricks is the top-ranked contender in the 170-pound division while Lawler is No. 3. No. 2 Condit, who lost to Hendricks at UFC 158, takes on No. 11 Tyron Woodley (12-2) in the UFC 171 co-main event. Condit says he has been told a win will earn him another title shot. Hendricks, a former two-time NCAA champion wrestler, is currently No. 10 in the UFCs pound-for-pound rankings. Lawler does not figure in the top 15. St-Pierre seems to deserve better. The decision over Hendricks was a record 19th win in the UFC for the Canadian, moving him past former welterweight champion Matt Hughes at 18. The Hendricks victory also moved GSP past former middleweight champion Anderson Silva for most wins in UFC title bouts at 12. St-Pierre holds the record for career fight time in the UFC at five hours 28 minutes 12 seconds. And he owns the UFC mark for most championship rounds fought (52). UFC 167 was St-Pierres 14th championship fight, one behind Randy (The Natural) Couture. St-Pierre also leads the UFC records in total strikes landed (2,523), significant strikes landed (1,254), takedowns landed (87) and takedown accuracy rate (73.7 per cent), according to FightMetric. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

A review of the rest of Navan where The Gurkha stated his Classic case and Aidan OBrien had an update on US Ranger. Aasheq was a disappointment as The Gurkha stretched right away with the Kilberry (C & G) Maiden at Navan. The former had been second to Investec Derby favourite US Army Ranger in what looked a hot maiden at the Curragh but while quickening into contention two and a half furlongs out, he could never get to Moore on The Gurkha, who was never out of cruise control. Completing a treble for the Aidan OBrien team, The Gurkha came forward markedly from his Leopardstown third on debut as he strode on in impressive fashion from the front, slamming Saafarr by nine lengths.Rabbie The Bard was third, with 8-11 market leader Aasheq fading to be well beaten.Paddy Power eased US Army Ranger by a point to 5-1 for Epsom, installing The Gurkha at 16-1.OBrien said: He had a good draw and it worked out lovely. Seamie (Heffernan) loved him at Leopardstown, he was mad about him when he came in and Ryan was mad about him there. We thought he might be a French Guineas horse, he came forward lovely and youd be delighted with him today.Hes only a baby but probably learned a lot the first day, even though he got beaten. If we could get one (another run) in between we would, but its not essential.I asked Ryan if hed get further (than a mile) - he said a mile and a quarter but he wasnt sure after that. Hes a horse with a lot of pace, I wouldnt be sure about a mile and a half. Its Ryans first time here and he was very complimentary about the track. He added of US Army Ranger: Thats the route were going with US Army Ranger and always was - the Curragh, then a trial, then Epsom. He has an option between Chester and the Derrinstown and its very possible he will go to Chester. Theres a big atmosphere there, with tight bends and he has to learn a lot in a short space of time. The earlier win for Hyzenthlay was officially for OBrien but in effect was a first two-year-old winner for son Joseph, who supervised her preparation at the familys Piltown base in County Kilkenny.OBrien junior said: She was going nicely and showing plenty of speed. It was our first two-year-old to run from the hill (in Piltown) and we were not sure what kind of marker we had on them.We werent going to run her because of the ground. She might be a stakes-type filly.OBrien seniors second winner was Pretty Perfect in the Listed Salsabil Stakes (see separate race report).Denise Foster enjoyed a notable big-race success as Lilys Rainbow won the Listed Heritage Stakes over a mile.On a day where those racing prominently fared particularly well, Billy Lees mount soon led, in company with Dragon Fei and Flight Risk close behind in third. The 16-1 chance held a clear advantage a furlong and a half out and stayed on strongly to score by three and a quarter lengths from Brendan Brackan.Lee said: That was brilliant, to be fair to Denise she said she was well, she has form on the ground and she stays well. There was no pace, so I was happy to let her bowl along in front and she enjoyed it.I knew she had a bit left in the tank and she galloped all the way to the line. You have to grind it out in that ground and she gets a mile and a quarter well.Foster, who currently has five horses in training, was recording her first win at Listed level. She said: Shes a completely different filly this year. She is so much more relaxed both at home and in the way she runs.I cant believe it, but the one thing she has is a huge heart and she kept finding more and more.I was really happy with her in the last few weeks, but I was just hoping she could finish third. Sky Racing Tickets Fast, secure racing tickets: Exclusive racing offers near you The prominently-ridden theme continued as Misty Millie powered away with the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden.Another to hail from a small yard, this time Peter Cluskey, the once-raced daughter of Dylan Thomas took full advantage of the withdrawal of favourite Creme De La, who refused to go into the stalls.Ryan Moore and the debutant Earring tried to make a race of it, but Colin Keane always had matters in hand and the 16-1 winner went further and further clear in the final furlong.Cluskey said: We thought it was a good maiden she ran in at Gowran last back end, and we thought with the ground drying out wed take our chance and see what we have.I have four horses, its great to have one like that and I think the owner is keen to hang on to her.I hope the handicapper is kind to me!The closing Navan Adventure Sports And Driving Range Handicap went to the Seamie Heffernan ridden Next Bend (8-1). WINNIPEG -- Former head coach Dave Ritchie doesnt have to think too long and hard when asked about the highlight of his six seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Ritchie coached the Bombers from 1999 to 2004, taking the team to the Grey Cup in 2001 after a first-place finish in the East and 14-4 season. They lost the Grey Cup that year to the Calgary Stampeders. "Probably watching that 2001 team play," he picked as his high-water mark. "(Quarterback) Khari Jones won I believe 12 games in a row. Then I rested a few guys. Probably if I had to do it all over again, I wouldnt have rested those seven or eight guys." The Bombers are inducting Ritchie, along with defensive linemen Tony Norman and Jim Heighton, into their Hall of Fame on Oct. 22 at the teams Legacy Dinner. Former Board member Bill Morton, who helped create the Hall of Fame, is also being inducted. Ritchie was on the phone for the announcement from his home in the U.S. and says he still remembers how great that 2001 team was, with players like Jones and receiver Milt Stegall, both already in the Bombers Hall of Fame. "I loved the players, I loved Winnipeg," he said. "Thank you very much." He retired from the CFL in 2008, after being passed over for head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in favour of Ken Miller. Ritchie also coached the B.C. Lions for three seasons, winning a Grey Cup in 1994, and coached Montreal in 1997 and 1998, before taking over in Winnipeg. He sits third on Winnipegs list of most coaching wins at 52, behind Cal Murphy at 86 and the legendary Bud Grant at 102. Heighton played for the Bombers from 1970 to 1978 and Norman from 1980 to 1986. Norman says it was Grant, then coach of the NFLs Minnesota Vikings, who cut him at camp and set him up with the job in Winnipeg. After spending a decade leading the Bombers to four Grey Cup wins, Grant went on to coach the Vikings for a total of 18 seasons, with four losing trips to the Super Bowl. "Monday morning Bud Grant said Norman, you had a pretty good game, but you really dont have a lot of football savvy so Im going to send you to Winnipeg," recalled Norman, who, like Murphy, was linked by phone. "So I came to Winnipeg. I tell you, (coach) Ray Jauch and (general manager) Earl Lunsford, as you guys were talking about earlier, just welcomed me in with open arms. From 1980 to 86 it was an incredible ride." His time included a Grey Cup win in 1984. Heighton, who still lives on his farm on the edge of Winnipeg, played 141 games with the Bombers and was a two-time West all-star in 1972 and 1974. He said it was both moving and exciting to get the call. "It was like wow, theyd forgotten me for so many years, I thought Id just got buried and put away," he said. Khalil Mack Jersey. HALIFAX -- Zachary Fucale stopped 33 shots through regulation and overtime and 10 more in the shootout as the Halifax Mooseheads edged the visiting Baie-Comeau Drakkar 2-1 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action. Rookie defenceman Jesse Lussier scored the shootout winner for the Mooseheads (3-3-0), who have won back-to-back contests after dropping three of four games to start the season, while Andrew Ryan recorded his fourth goal of the campaign. Denis Gorbunov supplied the offence for the Drakkar (2-2-2), who have lost four times already this season by just one goal. Simon Lemieux turned away 31 shots in a losing cause. The game started off chippy as six fighting majors were handed out in the opening 20 minutes. Halifax outshot the Drakkar 13-7 and Ryan found the back of the net at 10:20 while on the power play to give the Mooseheads a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. The second was just as rough, which led to both clubs getting chances on the power play. But, Fucale and Simon held their ground and it remained a one-goal game after 40 minutes. Alexandros Soumakis and Adam Stevens scored for Acadie-Bathurst (3-4-0) and Mason McDonald stopped 38-of-42 shots in defeat. --- Sea Dogs 4 Phoenix 1 SAINT JOHN, N.B., -- Special teams were a factor as the Sea Dogs scored three power-play goals en route to defeating Sherbrooke. Olivier LeBlanc, Matthew Highmore and Nathan Noel scored with the man advantage for Saint John (3-2-1) and LeBlanc tacked on two assists for a three-point outing. Mackenzie Brown rounded out the offence for the Sea Dogs with an even-strength goal and Sebastien Auger made 32 saves for the win. Marvin Cupper replaced Phaneuf at 8:43 of the first period and stopped 35-of-37 shots in relief. --- Foreurs 11 Remparts 2 QUEBEC CITY -- Anthony Mantha had four goals and five points as Val-dOr crushed the Remparts. Julien Gauthier and Shawn Ouellette-St-Amant had two goals and an assist apiece for the Foreurs (3-4-0) and Guillame Gelinas scored once and set up three more. Anthony Beauregard and Timotej Sille each had a goal and an assist to round out Val-dOrs offence and Louick Marcotte chipped in with four assists. Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings (3) - Early goal against was on the power play. There was traffic in front as Andrew Shaw was in Quicks eyes as he doesnt track it and it slides behind him. The second goal was a juicy rebound he didnt control off the initial shot by Patrick Kane. Goal number three was a rebound play that he didnt have a chance on. It was a good save on the initial one timer, but rebound is slammed in the back door by Brandon Saad. Huge save on Kane in second, to allow the comeback to happen. The 4-4 goal was a product of putting pucks towards the net and shooting for rebounds as Ben Smith jammed in the reboundd.dddddddddddd Big save on Bryan Bickell in the third to keep it at 4-4. The game-winning goal went glove hand on a nice back hand by Michal Handzus. Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks (3) – He was not tested early by the Kings as he was spotted a couple goals for support. Crawford was solid and good with his rebound control. Jarret Stolls goal was a scramble play that he does not find as there were four bodies in front of him. He had no chance on the Dustin Brown goal as it was a good initial save, but Brown jammed in the rebound. The Tanner Pearson goal is just a bad goal. It was a stoppable shot, but he continues to battle in the net. Huge saves on Marián Gáborík and Trevor Lewis in overtime to give his team a chance. It wasnt the prettiest of efforts, but got it done to live another day. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Nicolas Batum hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the Portland Trail Blazers 115-105 home-opening victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. Damian Lillard had 25 points, seven assists and seven rebounds, and LaMarcus Aldridge added 24 points for the Blazers, who led by as many as 13 points. Tim Duncan sat out the Spurs 91-85 win Friday night against the Lakers after bruising his chest in Wednesdays season-opening victory over Memphis. He had 24 points in the first loss this season for the Western Conference champions. Portland has won 13 straight home openers. Marco Belinelli hit a 3-pointer that pulled the Spurs to 104-100 with 1:24 left. After Lillard made two free throws, Duncan had a short jumper. Wesley Matthews dunked for Portland but Belinelli hit another 3 to make it 108-105 with 19 seconds left. Lillard and Batum made free throws before Batum hit a long 3-pointer for the final margin and the triple-double. The Blazers were also playing the second game of a back-to-back. Aldridge scored nine of his 25 points late in the fourth quarter to help the Blazers hold off Denver 113-98, snapping the Nuggets 23-game regular-season home winning streak. The Blazers jumped to an 18-11 lead, with Aldridge scoring 10 points. The Spurs tied it at 26 on Boris Diaws short jumper. Portland went ahead 37-31 on Lillards 3-pointer 3:58 before the break, and last seasons Rookie of the Year added two long jumpers to extend the lead to 41-33. Aldridge made a fast-break jumper to give Portland a 50-39 halftime. He led all scorers with 14 points in the first half. The Spurs closed the gap to 71-67 in the third quarter on Diaws basket and free throw, and Manu Ginobilis 3-pointer. But Lillard hit a clutch 3 just before the third quarter ended to give the Blazers an 82-74 lead. Blazers centre Robin Lopez, acquired from the Pelicans in an off-season trade, had a turnaround jumper that pushed Portlands lead to 84-72. NOTES: The Blazers dropped their season opener on the road to Phoenix, 104-91. ... Portland encouraged a "white-out" for the opener by giving all the fans a "This is Rip City" T-shirt on their seats. ... Portland claimed last seasons series with the Spurs 2-1. ... The Blazers have won three straight against the Spurs. Marcell Dareus Jersey.C. There is no argument that the line of Pacioretty, David Desharnais and Thomas Vanek was one of the hottest in the NHL leading into the post-season, and they did combine for three goals and seven points, but it was the depth of all four lines that helped propel Montreal.MONTREAL - The Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings were all over the Canadiens on Friday night, but that didnt matter to Montreal goaltender Carey Price. The goalie who backstopped Canada to gold at the 2014 Winter Olympics was at his all-world best as the Canadiens pulled out a 6-2 victory despite being dominated territorially and being outshot 46-20.There was a little bit of (Dominik) Hasek in net today, a little bit of Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur and a little bit of Carey Price, Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban said, listing a few of the all-time greats. The same could not be said of Kings backup goalie Martin Jones, who came into the game with shutouts in his last two matches but allowed three goals on the first eight shots.Subban and David Desharnais each had a goal and an assist while Jiri Sekac, with two, Andre Markov and Sven Andrighetto also scored for Montreal (19-10-2). The Canadiens won a second game in a row, thanks to Price.Hes a great goaltender and he has the ability to make great saves, added Subban. Theres only a few goaltenders in the league that can do that and hes definitely one of them. Its not a surprise to us seeing him do that but to be able to see him do it against one of the best teams in the league, thats what we need.Defencemen Jake Muzzin and Drew Doughty scored for the Kings (15-10-5), who have lost three of their last four but were coming off a 5-3 win Thursday night in Ottawa. They played well enough to win in Montreal. Dustin Brown had eight shots, but didnt have a point and went minus-3. Trevor Lewis fired seven times and Muzzin six.We had a lot of really good chances, said Kings coach Darryl Sutter. We totally dominated the first period. I think Carey Price was really, really good, wasnt he?The Kings, as a team, have been labouring to score this season, with top end players like Anze Kopitar, Marian Gaborik and Brown all well below their usual scoring pace. After a five-goal outburst in Ottawa, The frustration returned in Montreal. We had the puck a lot and we created a lot, but no goals at the end of it, said Muzzin. You need goals to win.I thought we battled back and stuck with it and continued trying to fight and get some more goals. It just wasnt happening.Price had an answer for nearly everything until Muzzin and Doughty broke through in the third period. There was a furry in the second period, it was just desperation, Price said, recalling his busiest moments. There was one in the first on Drew. He gott me back in the third.ddddddddddddJust playing the odds and getting lucky out there. Just trying to keep it simple, stupid.Price is 16-8-1 and has two shutouts, but could not have had a better game this season. The 46 shots and 44 saves were season highs. We were definitely opportunistic, he said. We capitalized on the few chances we got.Thats a good hockey club over there. They played well. The score doesnt indicate how the game went. Well take the two points, obviously. The Kings owned the puck in the first, outshooting Montreal 14-4. But the Canadiens got the only goal.Doughty had served only four seconds of an interference call when Tomas Plekanec won a draw to the point, and Subbans point shot beat Jones at 8:16 off a deflection in front. Montreal didnt get a shot the rest of the period. The Canadiens had a man advantage to start the second frame and Markov scored on a point shot that was deflected at 1:01. Only 2:44 later, Subban one-timed a drop pass from Dale Weise and saw the puck trickle through Joness pads. Manny Malhotra got his first point in 31 games as a Canadien on the goal.Muzzin scored on the Kings 34th shot at 3:35 of the third when his wrist shot from the point went in off Markovs hand.Desharnais scored his first goal in 13 games since Nov. 15 when he one-timed P.A. Parenteaus pass in on a two-on-one 9:47 into the third.Only 1:01 later, Doughty beat Price cleanly with a shot from the right side.Andrighetto was alone in the right circle to swipe in Michael Bournivals pass at 13:59. The Swiss rookie has one point in each of his first three NHL games. Sekac got another at 15:26 on a bad-angled shot with Jones down.Sometimes quality over quantity is more important, said price. Tonight was one of those instances where they got a lot of so-called stat-padders. But for the most part, I thought we did a good job of picking up the rebounds in front. They didnt get a whole lot of second chances. Notes: Jones shutout streak lasted 154 minutes 17 seconds. . . Jones made 31 saves when the Kings won 6-0 on their last visit to Montreal last December. . . Parenteau went off for repairs late in the first period after being clipped in an eye by Marian Gaboriks stick, but was back to start the second. . . Montreals Brandon Prust got an assist in his 400th NHL game. He has 31 goals, 98 points and 907 penalty minutes. . . . The Canadiens sent Eric Tangradi down to the American Hockey Leagues Hamilton Bulldogs after the game. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK - Weather. Its an influence in football and a big part of the game. And although the initial reports predict a temperature of plus-1 or 2 celsius, until they kick the ball off you just never know. The coldest Super Bowl ever played was in 1972 in New Orleans before the Mercedes-Benz Superdome existed between Dallas and Miami. It was 39 degrees fahrenheit which is about plus-4 celsius, so come Sunday that record could be re-written. When you consider the history of Wild Card, divisional and Conference Championship games, many have been played in brutal conditions. Most recently, San Francisco played at Green Bay in the Wild Card round on Jan. 5 and that one was well played and the best team on that day won. When it was first announced that New York as a city and New Jersey as a specific location would hold a Super Bowl many did cringe, myself included. But when it comes to the many amenities needed such as hotel rooms, meeting facilities, football fields, transportation networks then the area involved will provide anything needed. When the game was played in Jacksonville and Indianapolis I thought the magnitude of the event stretched the ability of the city to hold the event. I will say this though. The 2013 Grey Cup held in Regina, Saskatchewan did have a couple of days where the weather personally made me hesitate to be involved, but those were days of minus-16 and evenings of minus-26 celsius. Yes, if it gets that cold it will take away from the game as many are not conditioned for that type of challenge. Once the week starts on Monday it is mildly amazing how well and efficiently the Super Bowl is run. Everything is on time and I mean everything. If a player or coach is to appear, they are there. And for those in demand it is demanding. If a normal day is between eight and nine hours including preparation meetings and practice, you can add another three hours for media and their desires. That is especially true for the stars. The players on the back end of the roster by Thursday are not in demand and its time to read the paper or relax if you can. The people at the front end of the roster are always in demand. Monday it is for a select few, Tuesday is for everybody as traditional "Media Day" is the priority and Wednesday and Thursday the location switches to each teams hotels. By Thursday every question has been asked and you do sense that its time to move on. On Friday and Saturday it all tapers down in a dramatic way with only single players and head coaches available. The actual best meeting of the week is Friday at 11:30am. That is the "State of the League" address with the commissioner Roger Goodell and you do get a sense of what is working, what needs improvement and the timeline of future events for 2014. It also marks the presentation for NFL Player of the Year which recognizes the standard of excellence both on and off the field. So from Monday to Friday it is an odd week, a promotional week for anything and everything related to the NFL and the Super Bowl itself. It is true that many go to be seen and heard but come Saturday it changes to football. Outside of game day, Saturday is an explosion of anticipation. Everything that could be said has been said and just about everybody is over-saturated with predictions, thoughts and evaluations. It is time to play the game, not so much because it is close to February 2, just because enough is enough it terms of talk. Its time to play. Game day is special. We as a group always go early and take it all in and just watch people from everywhere interact. Well depending on weather, maybe we wont go too early this year. As much as I like the game I am fascinated by the halftime show. From our high altitude vantage point it is impressive how they get thousands of people on the field in a disciplined and short period of time. When the game is over it is controlled chaos as everyone either wants to leave the stadium, stay in the stadium or get on the field. And basically thats the week. A lot of hurry up and wait, then done, mess it up, followed by get ready to do it again tomorrow. It is part event, part celebration, part celebrity status recognition and in the end a championship football game. With the No. 1 seed in the AFC playing the No. 1 seed in the NFC it is difficult to argue that we will find the best team in the end. But there is a lot to be experienced before that conclusive moment. Including some guaranteed cold weather. Nelson Agholor Jersey. - Pierre-Maxime Poudrier scored twice and added an assist, and Antoine Bibeau made 43 saves as the Val-dOr Foreur downed the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 6-3 on Sunday to force Game 7 in their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final series. Brian Dawkins Jersey. -- The way Ted Ligety carved into turns looked so easy. http://www.authenticeaglesnflpro.com/c-57-eagles-seth-joyner-jersey.aspx.C. Left-handed reliever Boone Logan agreed to a $16.5 million, three-year contract on Friday, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press.PITTSBURGH – Sergio Santos arrived at PNC Park on Saturday afternoon and met with manager John Gibbons, who delivered the news everyone was expecting he would. "Were moving Sergio out of that role," said Gibbons of the closers spot, less than 24 hours after Santos blew his second save of the road trip and third of the season. Until Casey Janssen returns, Gibbons will go with closer-by-committee. "It could be Loup," said Gibbons. "It could be Cecil. Over the next few days it could be any of those guys." The change is necessary and while fans arent about to take pity on a multi-million dollar athlete, Santos struggles are a reminder of the human element of sports. There he was on Friday night, having blown a two-run, ninth inning lead, hunched over at his locker, his head in his hands for what seemed like an eternity. Santos then stood up and addressed the media. Later, once the ballpark lights had dimmed and he was back in his hotel room, Santos sifted through the litany of text messages he gets after each appearance, good or bad. His wife had written him and so had his parents. One of Santos brothers, Gabe, chimed in. He got messages of support from aunts and uncles, too. Like the goal crease in hockey, the pitching mound can be a lonely island when things arent going well. Out on the road, its easy to get lost in your thoughts. "You go to the hotel and that night, the night of the game, its usually the hardest, you know what I mean, that whole night," said Santos. "I mean, you close your eyes and you cant help but think about it. You think about a million different scenarios, what you could have done different." The sun, as they say, always comes up the next day. "The second you wake up the very next day youre presented with, basically, a choice," said Santos. "You couldd either feel sorry for yourself and say poor me or you could use the next day as an opportunity to know that what happened last night is not who I am.dddddddddddd." Santos turned to an old teammate and friend for advice. He often plays the online game Words with Friends with Darren Oliver and on Friday night, Santos sent Oliver a message. He wanted to talk. Oliver invited Santos to call on Saturday morning. "He said, Ive been through this a million times. I was in the game for so long. You go through stretches where theyre rough and theyre ugly," said Santos. "He says, its up to you to put a stop to it. They can go on for the whole season or you can nip it in the bud, get that confidence back and go out and pitch." Santos need only look at his numbers for a stark reminder of how bad things have been. Hes taken two losses, has blown three saves and has posted an ERA of 10.61 with a WHIP of 2.250. He insists he wont dwell. "For me, my edge has always been my confidence," said Santos. "Even in the midst of the biggest adversity, confidence, I think, is the one thing thats such a useful tool. So to even lose that, and dont get me wrong doubt creeps into your mind all the time, you get there, youre going, "Crap, is it going to happen all over again today? Whats going to happen? But its so important to just push those thoughts out of your mind." Santos is powerless over his role in the bullpen. He cant disagree with Gibbons decision and he wont. All he can do is wait until Gibbons calls his name again. "My whole thing is to help this team win in any way I can," said Santos. "Whether right now thats me throwing in the seventh, eighth, okay so be it because I know when Im going good I can help this team win. More importantly, for this team to win, Ive got to get right." Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Henry Burris is thrilled to have delivered Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans their first Grey Cup berth since

Henry Burris is thrilled to have delivered Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans their first Grey Cup berth since 1999. But now the 38-year-old quarterback can give his youngest son, four-year-old Barron, the opportunity to learn about the Cups rich history. "I asked Barron on Thursday night when we were talking, Do you know what the Grey Cup is, and he was like, Daddy, no, I dont know what it is," Burris said. "When he said that, I almost went to tears." Barron Burris will be able to experience it all first-hand, thanks in large part to his father. Henry Burris threw for 371 yards and three TDs to rally Hamilton to a wild 36-24 win over the Toronto Argonauts in the East Division final Sunday. The Ticats will face the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Grey Cup on Sunday in Regina. Burriss oldest son Armand had the chance to experience a Grey Cup in 08 when Burris led the Calgary Stampeders to the CFL championship. But Barron wasnt yet born so this will be his first Grey Cup experience. Forget about the huge diamond ring or $16,000 winners share, seeing his youngest son soak it all in and being there to experience it with him is priceless for Burris. "Its all about giving your children and family an experience theyll never forget," Burris said after Sundays win, his voice cracking with emotion. "They go through all the sacrifices, being in the stands when people are getting after you saying all types of things about their Daddy, this is what its all about at the end of the day. "I told him I wanted to help make his dream come true for him one day and here we are now. This is truly amazing." Rallying Hamilton from a 24-10 deficit against Toronto also exorcised some demons for Burris. Named the CFLs outstanding player in 2010 with Calgary, Burris was replaced as starter the next year and dealt to Hamilton. Although Burris enjoyed the best season of his career in 2012 the Ticats struggled, posting a 6-12 record. The challenges continued in 2013 with a new head coach (Kent Austin), several new faces on the roster and the Ticats having to play all of their home games in Guelph, Ont., while a new stadium is being built. But Burris again led the CFL in passing as Hamilton posted a 10-8 record to finish second in the East and is off to the Grey Cup after stirring playoff wins over Montreal and Toronto. After Hamiltons wild comeback win over the Argos, Burris bent down and pounded the Rogers Centre turf furiously. "It just seemed like all the demons of the past four years, what an organization threw at me and all the people have thrown at me, I was just letting them go," Burris said. "I was pounding them into the ground. "To be able to come to another organization and help them rise from what we did a year ago to turn into a Grey Cup calibre team, this is what you dream about." LaDainian Tomlinson Jersey. Lions. The clubs former starting quarterback, assistant and head coach returned Thursday as its receivers coach.PARIS – Milos Raonic is a much different player than the one who lost in the third round of the French Open one year ago. "Not only am I a better player purely all-around, but also on clay," said Raonic, who is seeded eighth, his highest ever ranking at a Grand Slam event. "Last year, coming in, there was a lot of doubts in my mind, struggling with a coaching change [an emotional split with Galo Blanco] and everything and I just wasnt playing my best tennis leading into it or at the event whereas now Im playing some of my best tennis, definitely my best tennis on clay and I feel like Im getting better each week on the clay." Just last week, Raonic came within a few points of knocking off Novak Djokovic at the Masters 1000 event in Rome, ultimately falling 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 3-6. After the match, the worlds second-ranked player said he could not remember the last time he felt so "helpless" in the return game. "Thats what I want every single one of my opponents to feel," Raonic said. "I know that when I can make them have a lot of doubts and a lot of insecurities on my service games, my return games get easier, because they feel the pressure that they need these games and its about imposing myself and I felt that in that match, I was able to impose myself." Raonic has won 80 pre cent of his first-serve points on clay this season to lead the ATP Tour. Thats up from the 76 per cent last season. "I think its the serve, but also the confidence I have behind the serve when the ball comes back," Raonic explained. "I think Im structuring points better. A lot of the time when people look at serve stats, they think that its just the serve and nothing happens after that, but its how you back it up and I think it creates more pressure on my opponents that when they do get my serve back, its not just about getting it back, they have to do something with it to at least neutralize [the point], because if I start the point ahead, I can finish it off." Raonic is a much more complete player than the one who burst onto the scene three years ago at the Australian Open advancing all the way to the fourth round. That remains the furthest he has progressed at a major (hes reached that stage four times, including twice at the US Open and once more at the Australian Open in 2013). It also matches the furthest any Canadian man has ever advanced in the singles competition at a Grand Slam event. But all signs point to that changing soon as the big server from Thornhill, Ont. seeks to break down yet another Canadian tennis barrier. He beat Andy Murray, seeded seventh at Roland Garros, earlier this season at Indian Wells. He pushed Rafael Nadal, the top seed in Paris, to threee sets at a hard-court event in Miami this season.dddddddddddd So as he enters the years second Grand Slam, his confidence level against the games elite is very healthy. "Its quite high actually," the 23-year-old said in a matter-of-fact tone. "I feel like every time Im getting better when I put myself in those situations. Its a big focus for me: do well in early rounds so you can face those top guys, because each time you do, youll get more experience." Raonic could get another shot at Djokovic if the draw holds to form and both make it to the quarterfinals, although the road there for the Canadian is littered with tricky propositions. Hell open the tournament on Sunday against Australian wildcard Nicholas Kyrgios. He is ranked 161st right now, but turned heads in Melbourne at the seasons first major by upsetting Benjamin Becker in the first round before falling to Benoit Paire, a top-30 player, in five sets in the second round. The 19-year-old Kyrgios is viewed as a player on the rise. "I followed him a lot, especially in the Australian Open," said Raonic. "He was having some exciting matches. He played really well. He likes to play aggressive. He likes to sort of use the ambiance around him and hes got a big personality in that sense. For me, it really comes down to taking care of what I need to take care of. Ive got to take care of my serve. Ive got to go out there, its the first match, with the attitude. The approach on the mental side is going to be very important and I must make sure I stay with patience. It doesnt matter if moments get difficult, because its still three out of five, just let my game flow and let my game follow." In the second round, Raonic could face 53rd-ranked Czech Lukas Rosol and in the third round, Gilles Simon could be waiting and its certain the Frenchman would have the home fans on his side. Then, should Raonic get to the round of 16, a showdown with ninth-seed Kei Nishikori looms. The Japanese star is 2-0 against Raonic and just beat him in Madrid (straight sets, but both went to a tiebreak). A Canadian man has never made the fourth round at Roland Garros so history seems to be within reach for Raonic, who made it clear he must do better than last years third-round finish if this tournament is to be considered a success for him. And should Raonic make more history at Roland Garros by making the quarterfinals, well, that would be an important milestone, but the rising star is hardly fixated on that benchmark. "It would mean a lot in that moment," he said, "but I dont think it would be very significant at the same time, because my ambitions dont lie in just making the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam." Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive tackle Marvin Austin. Austin, selected 52nd overall by the Giants in the 2011 draft, was released by Miami on Oct. 15. He was signed by the Dolphins on Sept. 24 and only played in two games. The injury-prone lineman appeared in just eight games over his two seasons with the Giants, spending his entire rookie campaign on IR and making eight tackles as a reserve last year. The 24-year-old Austin also sat out his senior season at the University of North Carolina in 2010, having being suspended for receiving improper benefits following an extensive NCAA investigation of the Tar Heels program. Ed Dickson Jersey. ROME -- New IOC president Thomas Bach is pleased with the Italian governments support for a 2024 Summer Olympics bid and said its "time for the United States to present a strong bid." Bach is in Rome for the European Olympic Committees general assembly and meetings with Pope Francis. He also visited with Italian Premier Enrico Letta. "The prime minister appeared to be interested in a bid from Italy for 24, because he has realized that the games can serve as a catalyst for development for a city and a country," Bach told The Associated Press on Saturday. While Rome has not yet been officially selected, the capital -- which hosted the 1960 Games -- likely would be Italys candidate. Other potential 2024 bids could come from Paris; Doha, Qatar; and cities in Africa and the United States. "I think its time for the United States to present a strong bid," Bach said. "And Im happy to hear that the USOC is undertaking everything to prepare such a bid." Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington are among the cities that could present a U.S. bid. USOC chairman Larry Probst attended the EOC meeting in Rome as the Americans attempt to boost their presence and influence in Olympic circles. Probst was chosen an IOC member in September. The USOC, which brings more money than anyone to the Olympic movement in the form of sponsorship and TV revenue, hasnt hosted an Olympics since the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. The countrys last Summer Olympics were in Atlanta in 1996. Italys last Olympics were the 2006 Winter Games in Turin. Rome was the first city to declare its candidacy for the 2020 Games, but then-Premier Mario Monti refused to provide government financial backing and the bid was dropped. However, Letta voiced strong support for a 2024 bid in a speech at an Italian Olympic Committee meeting 10 days ago and again after meeting seeing Bach. "The Italian bid could become something definitive," Letta said after meeting with Bach on Friday. "Its not just a simple possibility." Bach also visited the pope both individually on Friday and again Saturday with a large delegation from the Olympic assembly. With numerous other high-profile IOC members also in Rome -- such as Sheik Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, the influential Kuwaiti who heads the Association of National Olympic Committees -- Italian Olympic Committee president Giovanni Malago callled the two-day assembly "satisfying from every point of view.dddddddddddd" "I really think we showed strong signs of credibility," Malago said. "For them to be here and touch things that we take for granted with their own hands was very special." While Italys financial situation has not improved since Montis rejection, with the countrys economy still in recession, senior Italian IOC member Mario Pescante said the Olympics would spur a turnaround. "Our country needs this," Pescante told the AP. "The principal problem for our country is to convince a defeatist public opinion -- and rightly so defeatist -- considering the way we react to any big event, whether its an earthquake or what not." Fears of rampant corruption play a big role. "People need to stop saying We cant do it, added Pescante, who stepped in as a special commissioner for the Turin Games. "If we continue not to build anything because were afraid of the Mafia, the country will commit suicide. ... We need to offer a strong signal that this story is finished, that were not a population of thieves. This is the biggest challenge and an Olympics could overcome that." Meanwhile, 10 weeks after his election, Bach is also pressing forward with his campaign to reform the bidding process -- starting with the detailed dossiers that bidders complete at the outset. "From most of them (its) always the same answer because they all answer the way they think we want to hear," Bach said. "I would like to invite the potential bidding cities to tell us how they think that the Olympic Games would fit best in their social and natural environment. It depends on diversity and creativity for them to say how they see it." Earlier this month, voters in Bachs home country of Germany rejected a proposed Munich bid for the 2022 Winter Games, citing financial and environmental concerns. For British Olympic Association chairman and 2012 London Games organizer Sebastian Coe, the two keys for the bidding process are making sure as many cities as possible want to join and engaging with the local communities. "The most demanding stakeholder that you have are the people that youre delivering these games for," Coe said. "Once youve focused on the needs of the athletes, the next most important group are the people in those communities that you are delivering the games for." Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Ndamukong Suh was back with his teammates at practice, and he was almost done talking to reporters when he made an odd reference to the beginning of his career with the Detroit Lions. Suh says he could have played elsewhere when he entered the league. The Lions took him with the second overall pick in the 2010 draft. "Probably a lot of you guys dont know, I could have gone elsewhere when I was drafted. I had that decision in my hands," Suh said. "I chose not to take it, because thats just the way I saw it." Suh was responding to a question about whether he wants to stay with Detroit long term -- his point was that his decision to play for the Lions in the first place was evidence of his commitment. But he did not elaborate much when asked how, exactly, he might have ended up elsewhere four years ago. "Theres many ways to do things," Suh said. "You can drop down in the draft, you can move up in the draft. People can come get you. Theres a lot of things that happen that you guys dont know. ... It is for sure my choice, but like I said, thats water under the bridge, Im here in Detroit. Im happy to be here in Detroit, and Im going to continue to play my heart out, as Ive always done." Suh is entering the last season of his contract, so his future with the Lions is unclear. He skipped the teams voluntary minicamp last month, but hes stayed away from voluntary workouts before in his career. He is taking part in organized team activities now, and was at practice Wednesday. The two-time All-Pro has always gotten himself physically ready to play. "This is the same time I came last year," Suh said. "Ive been in a great program, one thats dialed in exactly to me and whats best for my body, to have longevity, which has been proven. I havent missed many games, if any at all. So thats what I do. I stayed close to that program." Suh said his absence had nothing to do with contract talks. "If it was about my contract, I wouldnt be here now," he said. Suh says hes not putting a timetable on his contract negotiations. Suh said he was probably one of the first players on the team to meet with members of Detroits new coaching staff. The Lions fired Jim Schwartz and replaced him with Jim Caldwell after last season. And Suh isnt buying the idea that his absence during the off-season affects his ability to be a leader. Suh became a captain last season. "Last year I came in at the same exact time," Suh said. "I showed that I was worthy of wearing a C at that point in time." As for Caldwell, he seemed happy to move on from the constant questions about whether Suh would be participating in the teams off-season work. "He looks good, obviously. Hes in very fine shape, as always," Caldwell said. "Hes one of those guys -- he knows how to take care of his body. Hes certainly done a great job with that, and hes fit and excited about being here." Indeed, Suh looked ready to practice Wednesday, at one point knocking two blockers back almost into the quarterback during a drill. "Hes back and hes in full swing, and doing everything above and beyond," centre Dominic Raiola said. "I dont know if you guys watched practice close, but you can see him doing extra steps, taking extra conditioning measures, finishing down the field 40 yards. We see all that. If I see all that, I know everybody else sees all that." NOTES: Caldwell said WR Golden Tate was absent because he was with the Seattle Seahawks for their presidential visit. However, the 38-year-old is in no hurry to sign with another team. "Im not in a rush. The game can be seen live on Sportsnet 360 at 8pm et/5pm pt and will be joined in progress on TSN immediately following the Nets-Raptors game. Philadelphia lost Game 1 in New York to see its losing streak at MSG climb to nine games, but the Flyers were able to halt the slide and take Sundays meeting by a 4-2 score. The victory evened the series at 1-1 with the series shifting to the City of Brotherly Love for Games 3 and 4. The Flyers only mustered 15 shots on goal in Thursdays 4-1 loss, but came through with a much better offensive effort in Game 2. Philadelphia was still outshot by New York, 33-25, on Sunday, but the Flyers converted 2-of-3 power- play opportunities while only allowing the Rangers to score once on six chances with the man advantage. "Our power play had some great looks and they scored two and we didnt," Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault remarked. "At the end of the night that was the game." However, things did not look good for Philly in the early part of Game 2, as it fell behind 2-0 in the first half of the opening period before digging its way out of that hole. Luke Schenn netted the eventual game-winner 11:18 into the second period, scoring the third of four unanswered goals for the Flyers. Jakub Voracek, Jason Akeson and Wayne Simmonds each scored once, while Ray Emery, starting back-to-back games for the first time all season, stopped 31 shots for the Flyers, who won at MSG for the first time Feb. 20, 2011. "We just stuck with it and kept working and I think thats why we won the game," Voracek said. "After we got scored on, I think we were the better team.dddddddddddd" Emery got the nod in net again with No. 1 goaltender Steve Mason still recovering from an upper-body injury that has sidelined him since April 12. The situation in net remains unchanged for Game 3, with Emery as the starter and Cal Heeter serving as the backup. Martin St. Louis opened the scoring 4:08 into the game for New York and Benoit Pouliot added a power-play tally to stake the Rangers to a two-goal cushion at the 8:22 mark. Henrik Lundqvist allowed three goals on 24 shots for the Rangers. Schenns game-winner came at even strength with 8:42 left in the second period. Michael Raffl carried the disc through the neutral zone and across the blue line before touching it ahead to Adam Hall, who threw the puck on net from the low right side as he was checked to the ice. Lundqvist sticked away the initial opportunity, but the rebound squirted into the slot, where Schenn swatted it home with a backhand for a 3-2 lead. The score stayed the same until Simmonds notched an empty-net power-play goal with 26 seconds left. Now its New Yorks turn to prove it can win on the road. The Rangers lost both of their regular-season games in Philadelphia in 2013-14 and have dropped three straight and four of the last five meetings at Wells Fargo Center. "We have to step it up," said Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello. "Its 1-1 in games, so we have to win one down there. Its as easy as that." This is the first playoff series between these franchises since 1997. Tuesdays contest is the first postseason meeting in Philadelphia since the Flyers clinched the Eastern Conference championship with a 4-2 win over the Blueshirts on May 25, 1997. Philadelphia has won six of the 10 playoff series against the Rangers, including three straight. Game 4 of this series is scheduled for Friday night in Philly. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

It would be easy enough to drop Peyton Manning in as the number one quarterback this year and worry

It would be easy enough to drop Peyton Manning in as the number one quarterback this year and worry about slotting the rest after that, but that doesnt have to be automatic either. Yes, Manning is coming off a career-best season, one for the ages, but after three consecutive seasons with more than 5,000 yards passing, Drew Brees can make a reasonable claim for top spot too. No matter which one is on top -- and I have Brees -- they are a cut above the rest at the position. The way that passing has evolved in the NFL, there are now lots of quarterbacks who can throw for 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns -- there were eight last season -- but Manning and Brees were the only ones north of 5,000 yards and 35 touchdowns, so consider them Tier One. After that, Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers are accomplished passers. Over the past three seasons, Stafford ranks second (behind only Brees) with 14,655 passing yards and that gives him a slight edge on Rodgers, who ranks second in that time (again behind Brees) with 101 touchdown passes. Those are still elite options but, after that, the warts start to become a little more apparent, even among quality options. Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton are brilliant runners and while thats a potential fantasy goldmine for yardage and touchdowns, it also presents a risk of injury. Working in Kaepernicks favour is that he has an improved receiving corps, with a healthy Michael Crabtree and newcomers Stevie Johnson joining Anquan Boldin and tight end Vernon Davis, Kaepernick doesnt lack weapons. Newton, on the other hand, requires a leap of faith, because his supporting cast is suspect, at best. Tight end Greg Olsen is a good one, but Newtons No. 1 wideout appears to be Jerricho Cotchery, a 32-year-old who had a nice season (46 REC, 602 YDS, 10 TD) last year, as Pittsburghs number three receiver, but he has one 1,000-yard receiving season in his career and last year was the only time in Cotcherys career that hes had more than half a dozen touchdowns in a year. On the other side, the Panthers have rookie Kelvin Benjamin, a 6-foot-5, 240-pounder who had a big year (54 REC, 1011 YDS, 15 TD) at Florida State, but its asking a lot to expect the 28th pick in the draft to immediately make an impact. In any case, these are some challenges that Newton faces as he tries to match the production of his first three seasons. They arent the only accomplished running quarterbacks. Further down the draft list, Robert Griffin III -- who ought to benefit from the addition of wide receiver DeSean Jackson -- and Russell Wilson, maybe with a healthy Percy Harvin at his disposal, have appeal as well. After a breakout performance last season, during which he threw for 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions in 13 games (10 starts), Nick Foles has exciting potential, if not the longest track record in the league. Andrew Luck has the pedigree, as a first overall pick, and has thrown for more than 8,000 yards with 46 touchdowns in his first two seasons. Its tempting to go for that potential. For more established options, maybe look to Atlantas Matt Ryan, who is likely to bounce back with a healthy Julio Jones in the lineup and Tom Brady has to be considered. Even though his passing touchdowns declined last year, to 25 his lowest since 2006, Brady has thrown for more than 4,300 yards in four of the past five seasons and the Patriots offence is still focused on him. Beyond that top dozen, there are proven veterans, like Andy Dalton, Tony Romo, Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger, all of whom have been able to put up big numbers, just not with the same kind of consistency. Romo has, in fact, been pretty consistent in his production but, coming off back surgery, hes perhaps a little riskier than in previous years. Among the younger quarterbacks looking for a breakthrough, maybe Ryan Tannehill, Geno Smith or E.J. Manuel are ready to move up, but they are still second-stringers, at best, for fantasy purposes. As for rookies Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater, keep an eye on them and be prepared to work the waiver wire, but none of the three appear to be set for big production right off the start. BOSTON -- Rubby De La Rosa is sure making things look easy in Fenway Park. Hes also making it a little harder for the Boston Red Sox to decide what to do when other pitchers are ready to come off the disabled list. De La Rosa matched his first career Fenway start with another seven impressive innings to outpitch Kevin Correia and A.J. Pierzynski had a sacrifice fly, lifting the Red Sox to a 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins Monday night. "I know its been 14 shutout innings here at Fenway," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Whether he feels the energy here in this ballpark or is comfortable on our mound, thats clearly the case. When a guy possess that type of arm and that repertoire, as long as he throws strikes, hes going to have the ability to get some of the best hitters in the game." De La Rosa (2-2) gave up only a single in the third inning as he combined with three relievers on a three-hitter. He walked three and fanned three. In his other Fenway start, on May 31, De La Rosa also pitched seven shutout innings, holding Tampa Bay to four hits. He had given up four runs over 5 2-3 innings in each of his last two starts -- both on the road. The 25-year old right-hander, acquired in Bostons salary dump deal that sent Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford to the Los Angeles Dodgers in August of 2012, is taking injured starter Clay Buchholzs spot in the rotation. Mike Napoli helped cut down a runner trying to score with a heads up play in a Red Sox victory that came after a pair of one-run losses. Boston is 9-15 in one-run games. It was Bostons first 1-0 win at home since May 18, 2011, over the Detroit Tigers. "I feel comfortable. I feel at home," De La Rosa said. "The field has helped me a little bit, the mound too" Both Buchholz and left-hander Felix Doubront are currently on the road back, making rehab starts. De La Rosa isnt worrying about what choice the club will need to make. "I dont want to think about that," he said, smiling. Andrew Miller struck out the only batter he faced, Burke Badenhop got two outs and Koji Uehara three outs to remain perfect in 15 save chances. He extended his streak to 31 straight saves over the past two regular seasons. "He was good. The guy throws mid 90s and has a changeup like that, a breaking ball every once and a while, but changeups, 3-2 changeups," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said about De La Rosa. "He was pretty good. He was tough. Our guy was tough, too, threw the ball very well. We had opportunities -- I think we made one baserunning mistake that you never know what might happen after that." Correia (3-8) gave up five hits, walking one and striking out two in six innings. The right-hander pitched six shutout innings in his last start, earning the win at Toronto. "That guy was tough," Correia said. "We had an opportunity early but after that he was real tough. I put us in a situation where we were in the game and thats all I can really do." The Twins have lost three straight. Badenhop loaded the bases, but struck out Brian Dozier to end the eighth. The Red Sox moved ahead 1-0 in the fifth on Pierzynskis sacrifice fly after Daniel Nava singled and advanced on Stephen Drews single. Bostons Dustin Pedroia had a single and has reached safely in all 29 career starts against the Twins. Heads up defence by Napoli kept the Twins from scoring in the third. San Fuld drew a leadoff walk and stole second. Danny Santana then singled to centre. Napoli cut off the throw home, with Fuld holding at third, and caught Santana in a rundown. But, just he ran toward Santana, Napoli turned and fired home, catching Fuld in a rundown where he was eventually tagged out. NOTES: Buchholz, on the 15-day DL with a hyperextended right knee, is scheduled to make his second rehab start for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday. ... Red Sox 3B Will Middlebrooks, on the DL and recovering from a fractured right index finger, and OF Shane Victorino, on the DL for the second time this season with a strained right hamstring, are both also on rehab assignments with Pawtucket. Farrell said before the game that he hopes to get Victorino back on the upcoming West Coast trip, which begins Thursday in Oakland. ... Minnesota INF Eduardo Nunez missed his second straight with a sore hamstring. ... Kendrys Morales went 0 for 4 after hitting safely in his first six games since signing with the Twins on June 8. ... Badenhop has pitched 15 2-3 consecutive scoreless innings. Clay Matthews Jersey. The 24-year-old climbing specialist with the Movistar team won two stages and finished with a 2 minute, 58 second advantage over fellow Colombian Rigoberto Uran for his first Grand Tour victory. "Its really emotional," Quintana said. "I didnt think there would be so many Colombians here today. It was incredible seeing how much support and how many banners there were." One such banner held aloft during the podium celebration with the Colombian flag on it read, "The Giro is ours. Gracias muchachos." Fabio Aru, a 23-year-old Italian who is also considered a top rider for the future, finished third overall, 4:04 back. Quintana took the pink jersey by winning the grueling 16th stage over the Gavia and Stelvio climbs then also took the 19th leg, a mountain time trial. Quintana finished second to Chris Froome in last years Tour. While he isnt planning to enter the French race this year, he has designs on winning it next year. "We need to look at our plans carefully," Quintana said. Slovenias Luca Mezgec won the final stage in a mass sprint. The Giant-Shimano rider clocked 4 hours, 23 minutes, 58 seconds over the mostly flat 172-kilometre (107-mile) leg from Gemona del Friuli to Trieste, which concluded with eight laps of a city circuit. "It couldnt be a better day than this. Were close to Slovenia," Mezgec said. Giacomo Nizzolo of Italy finished second and Tyler Farrar of the United States was third, both with the same time as Mezgec.dddddddddddd Dressed entirely in pink, Quintana finished safely in the middle of the pack and pumped his fist as he crossed the line then hugged his teammates when he got off his bike. "I can finally say Ive won the Giro," Quintana said. "I have to thank my teammates and my family here supporting me." During the playing of the Colombian anthem, Quintana held his pink-clad daughter Mariana, who was born in February. Quintana faced controversy after the 16th stage, in which he attacked on the descent from the Stelvio then powered up the final climb in the lead. There had been some confusion over whether the descent on a wet road was going to be neutralized but race officials declared afterward that his victory was legitimate. Quintana is the first Colombian to win the race -- and with Uran, it was a sweep of the top two spots. Another Colombian, Julian Arredondo, won the mountains classification. Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos travelled to Quintanas hometown of Combita to watch the final stage with dozens of friends and neighbours of the cyclist, who was raised in the high Andean town of 16,000 by a family of peasant farmers. Dressed in the pink colour of the tour leaders jersey and surrounded by fans holding signs like "Nairo: all of Colombia loves and thanks you," Santos said the Quintanas victory was an inspiration to millions of Colombians. "I feel like the entire country is supporting me," Quintana said numerous times during the three-week race. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Wales captain Sam Warburton says playing a three-Test series against the All Blacks in New Zealand,

Wales captain Sam Warburton says playing a three-Test series against the All Blacks in New Zealand, live on Sky Sports, is an amazing opportunity. Warburton, providing he recovers in time from a shoulder injury, will return to the scene of arguably his most painful rugby experience next Saturday. When the Wales skipper last played at Eden Park in Auckland - a 2011 World Cup semi-final against France - he was sent off midway through the first-half as Les Bleus went on to triumph 9-8. Since then, though, Warburton has led the British and Irish Lions on tour to Australia, while Wales have won two more Six Nations titles and reached a World Cup quarter-final, and he is relishing world rugbys greatest challenge. With his country without a victory over New Zealand away from home in seven attempts, Warburton said: I am never, ever going to go into a game not believing we are going to win it. I cant wait for it.Its an amazing opportunity for us, three games. You have to have a really positive mindset to go out there, which is half the battle in professional sport. Warburton suffered a miserable sending off the last time he played in Auckland We obviously know that New Zealand are massive favourites. They have been the worlds best team for a long time now, and they will be the best team we have played against probably in the last three or four years. The feeling of victory, then, is what motivates you because it would make it that much greater an achievement. So its really motivating to go out there and try to get a win against the best side in the world. Its an amazing rugby country. The people are fantastic, and they are all pretty fond of Welsh rugby, which is really nice to hear. They all seem to enjoy the brand of rugby that we try to play, so probably anywhere other than Wales that I play rugby, New Zealand has been my favourite place. The All Blacks play their first Test match next weekend since claiming a second successive World Cup triumph last autumn, and they go into battle without the likes of retired record-breaking captain Richie McCaw, plus France-based trio Dan Carter, Maa Nonu and Conrad Smith. Warren Gatland was reletaively satisfied despite their 27-13 defeat by England But Warburton added: They might lose experience, but they will never lose talent. I have been watching the guys in Super Rugby, and their teams have been doing extremely well, playing some great rugby. They will have a plan in place and guys coming in, and they will be extremely strong, as ever. Dont get me wrong, the experienced players will be missed, but the ones they have coming through is scary, their strength in depth. The star receiver certainly isnt celebrating it with the Texans mired in a franchise-record 13-game skid. With the trade deadline passed and the stretch run to the NHL season beginning, its time for Scott Cullens latest update to the NHL Awards races. On one hand, there are familiar names throughout, with previous Hart, Norris, Selke and Jack Adams winners named as best through three quarters of this season. However, as we get more games in the file, the leading candidates begin to separate from the rest of the class. Its not to say that others cant mount a strong finish to alter the outcomes, but as the season gets closer to the end, there isnt as much wiggle room. Anyway, here are my picks for awards through first three quarters of this season: HART TROPHY Winner: Sidney Crosby, C, PittsburghRunners-up: Ryan Getzlaf, C, Anaheim; Alex Ovechkin, RW, WashingtonComment: Its no surprise that a healthy Crosby is in position to win the award as the leagues Most Valuable Player, because hes 14 points up in the scoring race and playing at the level to which weve become accustomed, when hes in the lineup. This year, he hasnt missed a game, and that is the biggest reason that Crosby at the forefront of the MVP discussion. Getzlaf is scoring at a career-best rate of 1.17 points per game, leading the team that sits on top of the standings. While his possession numbers are solid, Getzlafs line has been particularly fortunate in terms of shooting percentage, which leads to a dominant goal differential (57 for, 25 against) when Getzlaf is on the ice during 5-on-5 play. Its not the kind of thing that can be sustained long-term (as in year-over-year) but, this year, it puts him in contention for the Hart. I recognize there may not be a lot of observers that would consider Ovechkin among the most valuable in the league this year, yet I do despite his deficiencies. Hhes so far ahead of the rest of the league as a goal-scorer, that I cant ignore that contribution. Right now, Ovechkin is on pace for a 57-goal season. Second-place Phil Kessel is on pace for a 42-goal season. The last player to win the goal-scoring race by 15 goals or more was Brett Hull, in 1991-1992, when Hull scored 70 and Kevin Stevens scored 54. (Incidentally, in 1990-1991, Hull scored 86 goals, 35 more than a trio of players -- Theo Fleury, Cam Neely and Steve Yzerman -- tied for second.) Its just not that often that the leagues top goal-scorer is that far ahead of the field and, this year, Ovechkin is. Additionally, while he does plenty of damage on the power play, Ovechkin also leads the league with 26 even-strength goals, so its not all one-timers from the faceoff dot with the man advantage. Looking beyond those three, Kessel, Joe Pavelski and Jonathan Toews are among others who could warrant consideration. NORRIS TROPHYWinner: Duncan Keith, ChicagoRunners-up: Erik Karlsson, Ottawa; Victor Hedman, Tampa BayComment: This season hasnt been all that different from Duncan Keiths 2010 Norris Trophy-winning campaign. Hes played his typically-strong two-way game, though he is down more than three minutes per game compared to his peak playing time, and has added more offence this season, scoring at the second-best rate of his carerr (0.79 points per game). There are some that decry the play of the Senators Erik Karlsson, because hes not a hard-hitting block of granite on the blueline and thats their vision of a defenceman, but Karlsson is a game-changer. Hes a rare defenceman that can drive his teams offence and his negative plus-minus is more a function of relatively bad luck on percentages (both shooting and save) when hes on the ice. After Keith and Karlsson, there are a number of worthy candidates, with my preferred choice being Victor Hedman, who has been great, while adding an offensive component that is far ahead of his previously established levels. Im not sure that Team Sweden is on board with this vote, but thats their prerogative. Some familiar names -- Shea Weber, P.K. Subban and Alex Pietrangelo -- are also viable candidates, close enough that a really strong finish could alter the outcome. VEZINA TROPHYWinner: Ben Bishop, Tampa BayRunners-up: Tuukka Rask, Boston; Semyon Varlamov, ColoradoComment: As a 27-year-old who had played 45 career games coming into this season, Bishop has been a major surprise, a rock for a LLightning team that has maintained its playoff position despite missing Steven Stamkos for a couple of months.dddddddddddd. Rask has pretty much always been a top puck-stopper, with a .929 save percentage over the past three seasons, and hes played a career-high 46 games this year, handling a number one workload over a full season for, really, the first time in his career. It hasnt been a smooth and steady road to the top for Varlamov, who has rebounded from a career-low .903 save percentage last season to post a career-best .925 save percentage this season. That might be a matter of arbitrary end-points, with Varlamovs real performance level somewhere between those two extremes but, for this season, his numbers warrant award consideration. If not Varlamov, Carey Price and Jonathan Bernier have both had strong seasons, strong enough that an impressive finish could push them into the discussion. CALDER TROPHYWinner: Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Runners-up: Tyler Johnson, C, Tampa Bay; Olli Maatta, Pittsburgh Comment: Having set the record for the longest point streak by an 18-year-old rookie, MacKinnon is already looking like the kind of game-breaking skilled forward that teams hope to get with the No. 1 pick in the draft. Nothing like having a great pedigree and living up to it. MacKinnons closest challenger may be Johnson, an undrafted, 5-foot-9, 23-year-old who has simply scored wherever hes played and when Stamkos got hurt, Johnson took on more responsibility and continued to play at a high level. Its not easy for a teenage defenceman to step into the NHL and consistently play with poise, but dont tell that to Maatta, who has been a revelation for the Penguins. Injuries on the Pittsburgh blueline have forced the Penguins to use Maatta more than might have been initially anticipated, but hes risen to the challenge. Bruins power play quarterback Torey Krug and Johnsons left winger, Ondrej Palat, are other contenders. SELKE AWARDWinner: Patrice Bergeron, BostonRunners-up: David Backes, St. Louis; Jonathan Toews, ChicagoComment: This isnt an easy award to hand out, though there are some consistent performers that tend to be in consideration year after year. Heres a list of centres that face a decent level of competition yet still have strong possession stats. In addition to Bergeron, Backes and Toews, who have been at the top of my lists for past couple seasons at least, Anze Kopitar, Gabriel Landeskog and Alexander Steen are first-rate two-way performers that warrant attention. JACK ADAMS AWARDWinner: Bruce Boudreau, Anaheim Runners-up: Ken Hitchcock, St. Louis; Jon Cooper, Tampa Bay. Comment: It can be difficult to gauge exactly what a coachs role is in a teams performance, so there is some guess work involved here. One of the factors I try to take out of the equation, or at least minimize in importance, is goaltending, because great goaltending can mask all manner of shortcomings. Anyway, Im not sure that Bruce Boudreau has done anything revolutionary with the Ducks that allows them to score on such a high percentage of their shots, but getting strong contributions from so many throughout the lineup has to be considered in some way a reflection of Boudreaus approach. Oh, yeah, the Ducks are also first place in the standings, so he has that working for him too. The St. Louis Blues play such a relentless, grinding game that Im inclined to credit a coach that can keep his team playing that style so effectively. Enter, Ken Hitchcock. Admittedly, Jon Cooper has the benefit of outstanding goaltending, thanks to Ben Bishop, but his team has survived without Steven Stamkos and has done so with a lineup full of young, inexperienced players playing significant roles. For that, Cooper gets my nomination. There are many other qualified candidates. Patrick Roys Avalanche are exceeding expectations, Mike Yeo and Mike Babcock have managed to get through significant injuries and Claude Julien keeps the Bruins rolling with a steady spproach; all of these coaches deserve credit for their work behind the bench this season. HOUSTON -- Nolan Reimold found out he was starting right before batting practice Thursday night. He made the most of the chance to play. Reimold hit two home runs, including a tiebreaking solo shot in the ninth, and the streaking Toronto Blue Jays rallied for a 6-5 win over the Houston Astros. Reimold was claimed off waivers on July 6 after he was designated for assignment by Baltimore. It was just his fifth start with Toronto. Manager John Gibbons said the Blue Jays got Reimold and Danny Valencia for a reason. Valencia, who was acquired in a trade with Kansas City on Monday, had two hits. "Theyve both played in the big leagues and had some success and theyre both going to help us out," Gibbons said. Reimolds first homer came in the fifth and cut Houstons lead to 4-3. His second homer of the season was off Chad Qualls (1-3) and sent Toronto to its ninth win in 10 games. It was Reimolds second career multihomer game and first since May 26, 2011. "I was trying to be aggressive," Qualls said. "I just wanted to be really aggressive with the fastball to get ahead. He ambushed it and hit it over the fence." Reimold has been hampered by an assortment of injuries the last two years. He said Thursday night helped show he might be back. "Its been two years since I could say that I feel like I am good enough to play again," Reimold said. "Its been a long process, so hopefully, all the work I did to come back pays off." Jose Bautista and Dioner Navarro also had solo homers for Toronto. Bautista connected for his 21st homer in the first, and Navarro tied it at four with his eighth in the sixth. Aaron Sanchez (2-0) threw two scoreless innings for the win, and Casey Janssen pitched the ninth for his 18th save. Jon Singleton homered for Houston, and Robbie Grossman had two hits. "Their four solo home runs proved to be the difference in the game," Houston manager Bo Porter said. "Theyre definitely a power-hitting team." The Astros scored three times in the third to open a 4-2 lead. Grossman and Marc Krauss each hit an RBI single off Drew Hutchison, and Jason Castro had an RBI double. Hutchison was charged with four runs and six hits in three innings. He is 2-5 with a 6.64 ERA in his last eight starts. Gregorio Petits run-scoring groundout gave Houston a 5-4 lead in the sixth, but Bautista tied it again with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Jake Buchanan started for Houston after scheduled starter Jarred Cosart was dealt to Miami earlier in the day. Buchanan allowed three runs and five hits in five innings. TRAINERS ROOM Blue Jays: First baseman Dan Johnson was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain. The Blue Jays recalled right-hander Chad Jenkins from Triple-A Buffalo. Astros: Either outfielder George Springer, who has been on the disabled list since July 20, or Dexter Fowler, who has been on the DL since June 27, could go on a rehab assignment during the next road trip, which starts Monday, Houston general manager Jeff Luhnow said. ON DECK Left-hander J.A. Happ (8-5, 4.58 ERA) starts for Toronto on Friday against his former team. The Astros are sending right-hander Collin McHugh (4-9, 3.45 ERA) to the mound. RASMUS SCRATCHED Toronto outfielder Colby Rasmus was scratched for being late to the stadium. "I wasnt here when I was supposed to be here, and they punished me as they should have," Rasmus said. Anthony Gose started in centre field, and Rasmus entered in seventh as a defensive substitution. HOUSTON TRADE Houston acquired outfielder Jake Marisnick, infielder Colin Moran and right-hander Frances Martes as well as a 2015 compensatory draft pick from Miami for right-hander Jarred Cosart, infielder Kike Hernandez and outfielder Austin Wates. Right-hander Brad Peacock, who was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, will likely take Cosarts place in the Houston rotation, Luhnow said. Jay Prosch Jersey. The Phoenix Coyotes stumbled down the stretch, going on a seven-game winless slide, to miss the play

The Phoenix Coyotes stumbled down the stretch, going on a seven-game winless slide, to miss the playoffs by two points, their second straight season on the outside looking in. Off-Season Game Plan looks at the Coyotes, and what they might be able to do to get over the hump. The Coyotes have been able to ice a consistently competitive squad on a budget -- even missing the playoffs the past two seasons, their cumulative points percentage was .538; just good enough to miss, apparently. If the Coyotes are going to make progress, they need to upgrade their scoring. They were a middle-of-the-road possession team, with good goaltending, but finishing 20th in goals scored was enough of a difference to prevent them from getting into the postseason. Additionally, they face the prospect of losing their highest-scoring forward, Radim Vrbata, as a free agent, so this is a situation that ought to be addressed. How might they do it? Well, internally, the Coyotes might turn to top prospect Max Domi, a skilled centre or a winger like Lucas Lessio might be able to make the jump, but those moves would hardly offset the loss of a proven NHL scorer. There will be scorers on the free agent market -- Thomas Vanek, Jarome Iginla, Mike Cammalleri, Matt Moulson among them -- though they wont likely come cheaply, and while the Coyotes new ownership may offer more financial flexibility than when the franchise was under league rule, its one thing to have flexibility and another to outbid the big spenders for a top scoring winger. Given the way this franchise has run through adversity, though, figure that GM Don Maloney will be able to find some value in the marketplace and ice a competitive team again next year. As weve seen over the past couple seasons, though, competitive may not be enough The TSN.ca Rating is an efficiency rating based on per-game statistics including goals and assists -- weighted for strength (ie. power play, even, shorthanded) -- Corsi, adjusted for zone starts, quality of competition and quality of teammates, hits, blocked shots, penalty differential and faceoffs. Generally, a replacement-level player is around a 60, a top six forward and top four defenceman will be around 70, stars will be over 80 and MVP candidates could go over 90. Sidney Crosby finished at the top of the 2013-2014 regular season ratings at 87.12. Salary cap information all comes from the indispensable www.capgeek.com. Last seasons 23 goals in 69 games represented his best goals-per-game rate since 2008-2009, and his 13.8% shooting percentage was the best of Doans entire career. That certainly makes regression likely, but its not like Doan has been reaping the rewards of favourable percentages; it just may not be reasonable to expect the same goal production. Martin Hanzal registered the first 40-point season of his career and continues to take on tough assignments, but hes also running into injury problems lately, missing 65 games over the past four seasons. His possession stats were down last season, but Hanzals size (6-foot-6, 236 pounds) makes him a tough physical presence for opposing centres to handle, at least its that way when he manages to stay in the lineup. Antoine Vermette played 19:13 per game and scored 24 goals last season, both his most since 2009-2010, and hes as durable as they come, having played every game for five straight seasons. Vermettes possession stats have declined, but at least some of that can be attributed to usage -- he faced the toughest matchups with more defensive zone starts. Speedy winger Mikkel Boedker has been making steady progress offensively. In the past two seasons, hes scored 77 points in 130 games, which puts him 85th in the league over that time. If hes still got a few more years to hit his peak, maybe Boedker could be good for 60-plus points with the right line combination. Last season, it was mostly taking the tough matchups with Vermette and a rotating cast of characters on the other side. The Coyotes had expectations that 34-year-old Mike Ribeiro would be able to add life to their offence but, by seasons end, Ribeiro scored 47 points (two fewer than he scored in 48 games with Washington in 2012-2013) and his 17:00 per game of ice time was his lowest since 2006-2007. More troubling about the lack of production is that the Coyotes tilted the ice in Ribeiros favour with zone starts, yet 0.59 points per game was his lowest since 2002-2003, when he was still trying to break into the Montreal lineup. Industrious winger Lauri Korpikoski has been getting hard minutes, though theres a fair case to be made that its more than he can handle. That doesnt mean that Korpikoski cant be a useful contributor, just maybe ease up on the quality of competition that he faces on a regular basis. At one time, Martin Erat was a consistent offensive performer, and while he remains a capable puck possesion player, hes fallen on ridiculously hard times as a goal-scorer. Among NHL forwards to play at least 1800 minutes over the past two seasons, Erat is the only one with fewer than a dozen goals, and he has eight. Hes coming into a contract year, so Erat ought to be motivated, but this offensive dry spell isnt something that can be dismissed as a motivation issue. His shots-on-goal totals, which were never sky-high, are way down and if that doesnt change, dont expect Erats point totals to rebound much. Hard-hitting winger Rob Klinkhammer just completed his first full NHL season, as a 27-year-old, and certainly held his own. There may not be a ton of offensive upside, but theres lots of room for a 6-foot-3 winger who can skate and hit. 28-year-old Kyle Chipchura has never scored more than six goals or 20 points in an NHL season, but hes battled his way to a regular spot on the fourth line, missing four games total over the past two seasons. This past season, he delivered a career-best 20 points while starting the majority of his shifts in the defensive zone. There will be some need to make changes up front, as the Coyotes have four unrestricted free agents. Over the past five seasons, he ranks third in scoring among defencemen, behind only Duncan Keith and Erik Karlsson and was on for 54.5% of the 5-on-5 goals when he was on the ice over that span. So, USA Hockey might not have been compelled to name Yandle to the Olympic team, but the Coyotes can be more than satisfied with a productive player who hasnt missed a game in the past five seasons. While Yandle puts up the numbers, 22-year-old Oliver Ekman-Larsson is effectively the Coyotes No. 1 defenceman, in terms of usage, because he plays 25 minutes a night, and is always facing the oppositions best lines. Ekman-Larssons production is starting to take off, too, as he had career-highs in goals (15), assists (29) and points (44) last season. Michael Stone is steadily improving, becoming a regular on the Phoenix blueline, and he finished the year playing top-four minutes. It takes some projection, and maybe a little faith, to believe the 23-year-old is ready for it full-time, but Stone does move the puck well and can contribute on the power play. Playing alongside Ekman-Larsson, Zbynek Michalek gets the toughest matchups and holds his own in that regard though, with 12 points in 93 games since returning to Phoenix, he plays more of a meat-and-potatoes game. Michalek has led the Coyotes with 252 blocked shots over the past two seasons. Injuries have hampered the development of David Schlemko, though the 27-year-old has been an effective depth defenceman at a reasonable price. There will be openings on the Coyotes blueline, though top prospects Brandon Gormley and Connor Murphy could both be in consideration for spots and Chris Summers, signed to an inexpensive one-way deal, might fill a depth role. The 32-year-old is under contract for five more seasons, so Phoenix is committed to him as their number one but, with Thomas Greiss hitting unrestricted free agency, there could be a new backup coming. The Coyotes have tended towards inexpensive options and might be able to do something like that again with unrestricted free agents Carter Hutton, Chad Johnson or Justin Peters. The 12th overall pick in last summers draft is smallish, but a creative playmaker, something in short supply in Phoenix, and could have a shot at making the team next year. The 13th pick in 2010, Brandon Gormley is a smart defenceman who makes a good outlet pass and has 65 points in 122 AHL games over the past two seasons. That earned him a five-game audition with the Coyotes, though that audition might have suggested that he needs more work before hes ready. Picked 20th in 2011, Connor Murphy split last season between the AHL and NHL, and the 21-year-old doesnt have much of an offensive game, Murphy is a steady, stay-at-home type who was most frequently paired with Yandle or Ekman-Larsson when he was the Coyotes. Taken with the 27th pick in 2012, Henrik Samuelsson has steadily improved throughout his junior career and is a high-scoring forward with a big body. He may have to shift to wing in the NHL, but theres nothing wrong with having that size and skill on the wing. Sturdy winger Lucas Lessio got into three games with the Coyotes early in the year, and while he may not have been ready for primetime, he had a very strong first pro season, scoring 29 goals in 69 AHL games. The 2011 second-round pick should be in competition for a job at some point next season. Acquired from the Edmonton Oilers in March, 2013, Tobias Rieder was productive in his first pro campaign. Hell need to get stronger to move up the ladder but, if he does, Rieder has skill that makes him worth watching. A first-round pick in 2011, Mark Visentin has produced uneven results in his first couple pro seasons. Hes only 21-years-old, so theres time to be patient and develop Visentin, but early returns have not lived up to that draft slot. Laurent Dauphin, a second-round pick last summer, is a smart, competitive centre who will need some time to round out his game and get stronger, but is one to watch. Picked up in a trade with Anaheim, Brandon McMillan was a solid contributor in 22 games with the Coyotes last season, chipping in six points with favourable possession stats. Hell be in prime consideration for a depth spot next season. A fourth-round pick in 2009, Jordan Szwarz got into 26 games with the Coyotes last season, scoring three goals. Hes a high-effort guy with limited offensive upside. Chris Summers has played 47 NHL games over the past four seasons, compared to 211 in the AHL, so while the 2006 first-rounder might appear to be destined for time on the farm, he does have a one-way contract for next season, which might keep him in a depth role with the Coyotes. CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers have signed Canadian Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in this year

CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers have signed Canadian Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in this years draft, to his guaranteed rookie contract. Financial terms were not immediately known, but the deal can be worth up to $22.8 million over four years. The Brampton, Ont., native was somewhat of a surprising selection by the Cavaliers, who believe the 6-foot-8, 240-pounder from UNLV can play power forward. Hes recovering from shoulder surgery, but the Toronto native is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. He averaged 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds as a freshman with the Runnin Rebels. The Cavs also said they have finalized their deals with first-round pick Sergey Karasev, a guard from Russia, and second-round selection Carrick Felix from Arizona State. Karasev helped lead Russia to the gold medal in the World University Game this summer. Fran Tarkenton Jersey. DUNEDIN, Fla. - Manager John Gibbons offered a glimpse Sunday of the Blue Jays much-debated pitching

DUNEDIN, Fla. - Manager John Gibbons offered a glimpse Sunday of the Blue Jays much-debated pitching rotation. He helped fill in some of the gaps when he said the pitching questions remaining are who will be the fifth starter and whether the team will carry seven or eight in the bullpen. Previously GM Alex Anthopoulos had talked of two openings left to fill in a starting rotation that already features R.A. Dickey, Mark Buehrle and Brandon Morrow. A gaggle of pitchers has been competing for the fourth and fifth sports with J.A. Happ, Drew Hutchison and Ricky Romero the leading contenders although Happs back issues had muddied the waters somewhat. Asked Sunday if Happ was the fourth starter with one position still open, Gibbons replied: "Yeah, Im a big Happ fan. I think hes going to have a heck of a year for us and all indications the other day are his backs fine. He threw very well (in a minor league game Friday). That was a big question. "Now if his back flares up, that might be a different story." Hutchison is widely believed to have already pitched his way into the rotation. In three outings this spring, the 23-year-old right-hander has given up three runs in 9 2-3 innings for an ERA of 2.79. He has struck out 16 and walked one. "Hes been pitching great," Gibbons acknowledged. "Arguably the best of anybody in camp." Then he clammed up, returning to his stock response that the lineup will be announced at the end of the spring. "So keep asking. You aint getting nothing," he said devilishly. Gibbons confirmed Dickey will pitch first with left-hander Buehrle third in the rotation. Morrow reportedly will throw fifth, which would put him on the mound for the home opener April 4 against the Yankees. The Jays open March 31 with a four-game series in Tampa. The manager declined comment on Morrow pitching fifth. But he rejected the suggestion that a veteran was needed to handle the pressure of pitching the home opener. "Its a big day but, you know what, if you dont think they can handle that day they probably shouldnt be there." Gibbons also said he had no issue with southpaws Buehrle and Happ pitching back-to-back. "Theyre both left-handers but theyre different type of pitchers," he said. In case a second opinion on the starting rotation is needed, the Jays asked fans via Twitter on Sunday to offer their suggestions. "Who do you think should be included in the @BlueJays Opening Day Pitching Rotation? Send us your 5 pitchers and rank them 1-5," the team tweeted Sunday on its official account. Gibbons confirmed locks in the bullpen are Casey Janssen, Sergio Santos, Brett Cecil, Aaron Loup and Steve Delabar. "Theyre not going anywhere," Gibbons said. "Your other guys will be your middle and long (relief) guys so were covered with our late-inning go-to guys." Pitchers Esmil Rogers, Todd Redmond, Jeremy Jeffress and Dustin McGowan are out of options, meaning the team could lose them if they are sent down. McGowan is expected to be part of the opening bullpen, despite his desire to be a starter. "Theres some pretty good pitchers out there that are out of options and you cant keep them all," said Gibbons. "We also think the guys we cut loose will probably get grabbed," he added. A seven-man bullpen would give the Jays a four-man bench. "Thats the risk you take. If you take that extra bullpen guy, youre shorter on the bench." said Gibbons. "Thats not ideal but it might cover our rotation a little bit, make the pitching staff that much stronger if we go with eight." Despite the options complication, Gibbons insisted the team would take the best 25 players north. Also Sunday, the Jays optioned pitchers Kyle Drabek, Chad Jenkins and Sean Nolin to triple-A Buffalo. Reliever Neil Wagner was sent down Friday. Joe Williams Jersey. It was the most lopsided loss in Lakers history. Darren Collison had a team-high 24 points while starting at shooting guard for the injured Jamal Crawford. Chris Paul added 13 points and 11 assists for the Clippers, who apparently are trying to make up for decades of humiliation at the hands of the Lakers all in one season; theyve won the last two meetings by a combined 84 points. Eli Harold Jersey. For the Bombers it has been a combination of things coming together at the most inappropriate moments in time. Quarterback, injuries, Canadian talent or depth and leadership are all issues. Trust me when I say being a Bomber is no fun right now in a city that embraces football the way Winnipeg does. While Buck Pierce will be getting another shot, I think Max Hall does deserve another opportunity. http://www.thesf49ersshoponline.com/Solomon-Thomas-49ers-Jersey/.Y. Gareth Southgate was keen to praise the performances of Wayne Rooney, Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard following Englands 2-0 win over Malta on Saturday. The interim boss, who replaced Sam Allardyce at the helm 11 days ago, enjoyed his first game in charge on Saturday as Daniel Sturridge and Alli struck first-half goals at Wembley to secure a second win from two matches in World Cup qualifying.Southgate handed an international debut to Manchester United forward Lingard, while he played Tottenham midfielder Alli in an advanced role behind the forwards. That meant captain Wayne Rooney was played in central midfield and Southgate was quick to praise all three players after the match. He told Sky Sports: Rooney dictated the play and controlled the game for us. Wayne Rooney played in a deep midfield role We knew wed have a lot of the ball and I think having his experience and leadership, not only today, but to get through whats been a difficult week, has been important for the team.I think number 10 is Deles best position. Hes a super link between the midfield and forwards and he is a goalscorer, thats one of his strengths. Jesse Lingard made his England debut on Saturday I was also delighted with Jesse Lingard. I thought he had an outstanding game. I thought he was really bright, linked the play well and was very creative in a lot of the play that he did.For him it would have been nice to cap that with a goal.Alli, Lingard and Theo Walcott all spurned good chances to extend Englands advantage as they warmed up for Tuesday nights visit to Slovenia. While Southgate was frustrated by the wasteful finishing of his players, he insisted there is more to come in the remaining three matches of his spell. Dele Alli scored Englands second goal against Malta I thought we did some very good things, he said.In the first half we moved the ball very well, made several very good chances and took our goals well. Watch NOW TV Watch Sky Sports for just £6.99. No contract. The keeper made some excellent saves and I think in the second half there was a little bit of looking after ourselves for Tuesday, subconsciously - but we still could have had a more comfortable win. That gives us plenty to work on.Theres a lot more to come but after what has been a very difficult 10 days for everybody to play as well as they did in the first half was pleasing. Theres a lot more to come. Interim boss Gareth Southgate won his first match in charge Youve got to remember we played a team that was 5-4-1 and weve had problems breaking that down in the last few months. We created a lot of chances and have to be more ruthless in finishing them.Of course, you would like a heavier win and for everyone to go home absolutely flying but I dont think that was because we didnt create enough chances. We didnt finish them today. You can watch Englands tour of Bangladesh, plus Premier League football and the Japan Grand Prix on Sky Sports. The sophomore forward had 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds to help the 23rd-ranked Sooners defeat No. 8 Oklahoma State 88-76 on Monday night. Spangler, in his first season playing for Oklahoma after transferring from Gonzaga, has displayed an energy level that has helped change the Sooners from a team that could just score a lot of points into one that held Oklahoma State to 40 per cent shooting. "Ryans kind of been the cornerstone for our growth in the toughness area," Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said. "I think were getting tougher. I think weve made big strides in that area." It was the first time both teams have entered a "Bedlam" rivalry game ranked since 2005. The Sooners got great efforts from a few unexpected sources. Freshman Jordan Woodard scored 17 of his 18 points in the second half and reserve Tyler Neal added a season-high 15 points for the Sooners (17-4, 6-2 Big 12), who won their fourth straight game and claimed their third win over a ranked conference opponent this season. Woodard averaged just 11 points a game and Neal averaged 5.9 coming into the game. "Thats kind of been the trademark of this team all year long -- different guys, different nights, stepping up and giving us great support," Kruger said. "We beat a great Oklahoma State team. That makes it even more satisfying." Oklahoma shot 46 per cent from the field and made 8 of 17 3-pointers. The Cowboys committed 29 fouls and were outscored 30-15 at the free throw line. Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford said the poor defence and the foul trouble were related. "We didnt defend very much," he said. "When you dont defend, you put yourself in position to foul. Give them credit. They beat us off the dribble. Fouling is usually a product of being out of position." Oklahoma State guard Phil Forte said the team has to handle situations like Mondays better. &"We need to quit worrying about the refs and all that and just play," he said.dddddddddddd "Move onto the next play. Thats the most important thing." Marcus Smart had 22 points on 6-of-18 shooting and spent much of the game in foul trouble. Forte scored 20 points and made all six of his 3-point tries and Markel Brown added 18 points for the Cowboys (16-4, 4-3). OSUs LeBryan Nash, who scored a career-high 29 points against West Virginia on Saturday, fouled out with eight points in 17 minutes. Oklahoma dominated early as Oklahoma States Smart, Nash and Stevie Clark all committed two fouls in the first 12 minutes. Forte gave the Cowboys some life with two deep 3-pointers in a run that trimmed Oklahomas lead to 32-26. The Sooners extended it to 46-36 on a 3-pointer by Neal with 46 seconds left in the first half, and the Sooners led 46-38 at the break. Neal scored 10 in the first half. Smart played just 6 minutes in the first half and had six points on 2-for-4 shooting. Woodard drained a 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to push Oklahomas lead to 53-41, and he later hit a 3-pointer to bump OUs lead to 13. A 3 by Frank Booker increased the Sooners lead to 16 points, then Nash committed his fourth foul with 14:17 remaining, and Clark fouled out with 12:18 to go. A 3-pointer by Smart and a dunk by Brown cut OUs lead to 64-57. Spangler scored on a putback, was fouled by Smart and made the free throw to put the Sooners up 75-62 with just over 6 minutes to play. Oklahoma State cut Oklahomas lead to six, but Woodards 3-pointer with just under 3 minutes left bumped the Sooners lead to 10. "Give them credit," Ford said. "Every time we would make a semi-run at them, they would make a big shot and we would make a silly play." The rematch is Feb. 15 at Oklahoma State. "Theyre a great team," Neal said. "Theyre going to do some good things this year, and were going to have to be ready when we play them in Stillwater." Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '
