(SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Raptors set their sights on a second straight victory with the Okl

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Raptors set their sights on a second straight victory with the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Air Canada Centre tonight riding a two game streak of their own. The Raptors snapped a two-game losing streak in Wednesdays 107-100 road victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, while the Thunder dispatched the Chicago Bulls on Monday and then bested the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday as part of a three-game road swing. Toronto bested the Thunder in Oklahoma City on Dec. 22 to snap a three-game series losing streak. OKC has won two of its last three in Toronto. DeMar DeRozan poured in a game-high 31 points and Kyle Lowry tallied 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists in Wednesdays win over the Pelicans. Amir Johnson added 17 points and nine boards for the Raptors, who have won three of their last five. Tyler Hansbrough chipped in a game-high 13 rebounds and Greivis Vasquez contributed 14 points. "We understand we needed this game, plus we have a long flight back home that we didnt want to sit on this loss with," DeRozan said. The Raptors will get a boost to their lineup this evening, as centre Jonas Valanciunas will return to the lineup as a starter. Valanciunas, who left Tuesdays loss to the Atlanta Hawks late in the third quarter with a lower back sprain, participated in the shoot around Friday morning and was declared ready to play about an hour before game time. Kevin Durant had 35 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to lead the Thunder over the Cavaliers on Thursday. It was his 33rd consecutive game with 25-plus points, which is the longest run of his career and the longest in the NBA since Michael Jordan strung 40 straight together during the 1986-87 season. "My shot was a little flat and I missed some easy ones," said Durant, who shot 12-for-21 from the field. "I just tried to play as hard as I can on defense and make winning basketball plays." Serge Ibaka supplied 16 points and 11 boards, while Reggie Jackson added 13 points and six assists for the Thunder, who have won four of their last five games. Star Thunder guard Russell Westbrook did not suit up to rest his surgically- repaired knee. Oklahoma City is 1 1/2 behind the San Antonio Spurs for Western Conference supremacy. The Raptors are 2 1/2 games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets for the lead in the Atlantic Division, but they are only a half-game in front of the Bulls for the third seed in the Eastern Conference. Toronto will play two straight north of the border and will host the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes II Womens Jersey. The third-seeded Murray, who won here in 2009, will face seventh-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa next on the indoor hard court. Tanoh Kpassagnon Youth Jersey. -- The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a minor league contract with reliever Brandon Lyon that includes an invitation to their big league camp for spring training. http://www.authoritychiefsshop.com/patrick-mahomes-ii-chiefs-jersey-c-59/.J. -- Pitcher Carl Pavano is retiring after 14 major league seasons. Tanoh Kpassagnon Jersey. The Maple Leafs will play on the road for the first time this season after dropping home contests to Montreal and Pittsburgh to begin the campaign. After losing a one-goal decision to the Canadiens on Wednesday, they were bested 5-2 on Saturday by the Penguins. Kareem Hunt Youth Jersey. As their best player continued to orchestrate his dramatic exit from the club, the Whitecaps added size and creativity at Thursdays Major League Soccer SuperDraft.TORONTO -- The Guinness International Champions Cup is off and running but you can forgive Olympiacos and AC Milan if they are battle-weary after just one game. In the wake of a 3-0 loss to Olympiacos on Thursday, Milan coach Pippo Inzaghi pointed to a punishing schedule that had his team arrive at 2 a.m. the day of the game from New York after two days travel from Italy. "We didnt have a chance to train," Inzaghi said through an interpreter. "The players are trying their best." Olympiacos coach Michel, a stylish Spaniard who like Inzaghi had a distinguished playing career, found the travel schedule a little easier to accept thanks to the result. "When we get a win, we think a less about the fact that we are tired and that we had to travel a lot," he said through an interpreter. "But I understand what the Milan coach said. This is a really hard trip and we get really tired with it." Asked when his team had arrived in North America, Michael and his translator went back and forth until they could agree on Monday. "From Milan to New Jersey," said Michel, who touched down in Toronto on Wednesday morning. "We are a little lost," added the interpreter. Thursdays kickoff to the tournament was originally scheduled for New Yorks Citi Field before being shifted last month to Toronto. Charlie Stillitano, CEO of tournament organizer Relevent Sports, did not offer one specific reason for the move but said he initially thought the Toronto stadium would be unavailable because of the FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup. He also said New York was hosting other games and the switch gave his company a chance to partner with MLSE and take advantage of an expanded BMO Field in the future. Alejandro (Chori) Dominguez, Dimitris Diamantakos and Andreas Bouchalakis scored for Olympiacos, which was full value for the win in a game short on fireworks. The Greek side seemed to play at a higher tempo than the languid pace of Milan. The Italian team pressed later in the second half but was unable to take advantage before an announced crowd of 10,603 at BMO Field. One of those fans ran on the field late in the game and took a selfie with an Olympiacos player. He was escorted out after the photo op. Another fan then did it with a Milan player, taking a tumble en route. Two more were grabbed before they could follow suit. Olympiacos outshot Milan 10-8 (4-2 in shots on target). The eight-team tournament runs through Aug. 4 with games in Ann Arbor, Mich., Berkeley, Calif., Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Milan and Olympiacos are joined in Group B by Liverpool and Manchester City. Group A features Inter Milan, Manchester United, AS Roma and Real Madrid. The two group leaders will meet in Miami for the title. Mercurial Milan striker Mario Balotelli was not in uniform, perhaps saved for Sundays meeting with his former club Manchester City in Pittsburgh. Fans chanted "We want Balo" minutes into the match. The Italian star, along with Ghanaian teammate Michael Essien, watched the match from a box. Inzaghi said Balotelli did not play since he had only three training sessions with the team after the World Cup. Balotelli has been in the headdlines over a possible transfer, with reports he wanted an annual salary of five million pounds after taxes to join Englands Arsenal.dddddddddddd But Milan officials denied there had been a bid from the north London club. Balotelli, meanwhile, posted a somewhat bizarre Instagram video this week that showed him dancing while ironing and reading former Inter Milan teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovics autobiography. The video was accompanied by a note: .KnowledgeIsPower reading books is cool?? .StayInSchoolKids. His Instagram account also included a thank you to Toronto FC for giving him a jersey and for letting Milan train at "our magnificent KIA training centre!" Of course, Balotelli could also tweet from experience that setting off fireworks in your bathroom is unwise. In 2011, two fire crews were reportedly needed to put out a blaze at his English home. Veteran Italian international striker Giampaolo Pazzini started up front for Milan. The Serie A clubs midfield featured 19-year-old Bryan Cristante, an Italian-born midfielder who holds a Canadian passport thanks to his fathers bloodlines. Forward Hachim Mastour, who turned 16 last month, started on the bench. Milan signed the starlet from Reggiana for a reported 500,000 euros (C$723,550) when he was 14. Mastour, born in Italy to Moroccan parents, did put on a halftime show playing with the ball as if it was on a string as the reserves warmed up. Dominguez opened the scoring for the Greek side in the 16th minute on a nice cross from French winger Mathieu Dossevi that caught the Milan defence napping. Dominguez, a veteran Argentine, brought the ball down and sent a right-footed shot past 21-year-old Brazilian keeper Gabriel. Olympiacos came close to going up 2-0 in the 39th minute but Thanasis Papazoglous header off a corner was cleared off the goal-line by a Milan defender. Milan midfielder Andrea Poli threatened in the first half but he couldnt quite get his head to a cross. Pazzini came close twice late in the first half, inches away from getting hold of a pair of dangerous crosses. Diamantakos upped the lead in the 49th minute, angling in a cross from Frances Arthur Masuaku as Olympiacos punished some slack Milan defending. Riccardo Saponara hit the goalpost minutes later on a Milan rare attack. Bouchalakis scored for Olympiacos against the run of play in the 78th minute, on a long-range left-footed rocket of a shot. French international centre back Philippe Mexes, Brazils Alex and Japanese star Keisuke Honda were among Milans second-half substitutes. Milan finished eighth in Serie A last season with a 16-13-9 record. Olympiacos won the Greek title with a 28-4-2 campaign. Milan jerseys far outnumbered those of Olympiacos but a pocket of chanting Greek fans made their presence felt in the northeast corner of the stadium. They celebrated the win with a flare that would have lit up a mine shaft. It was a sparse crowd after Wednesdays sellout of 22,000-plus for Toronto FC versus Tottenham. The upper tier of the West stand was closed off for Thursdays game and there was just a handful of fans in the north stand behind the goal. Olympiacos faces Liverpool in Chicago on Sunday. Real Madrid won the inaugural final last year, defeating Chelsea 3-1 before 67,273 fans in Miami. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings have taken another one of their priority free agents off the ma

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings have taken another one of their priority free agents off the market before it opens, agreeing to terms on a five-year contract with defensive end Everson Griffen that features $20 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $42.5 million. A person with direct knowledge of the deal confirmed the details to The Associated Press on Sunday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the Vikings havent announced the deal. The NFL free-agent signing period starts Tuesday. The Vikings also agreed to terms on a one-year contract with middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley, according to another person with direct knowledge of that deal who spoke to the AP on Sunday on condition of anonymity because the Vikings havent confirmed the agreement. Brinkley played for the Arizona Cardinals last season. Two days ago, the Vikings reached a two-year deal with quarterback Matt Cassel worth as much as $10 million. The 26-year-old Griffen, a fourth-round draft pick from USC in 2010, has an opening to become a full-time player with the departure of four-time All-Pro Jared Allen, who will officially become a free agent on Tuesday and wont be re-signed. Allen and Brian Robison have been the starting defensive ends for almost Griffens entire NFL career, though he has seen extensive action as a situational pass rusher and on special teams. Griffen is getting paid more for his potential at a critical position in this pass-driven league than for actual production. He had 5 1/2 sacks last season, down from eight in 2012. But he has the speed and athleticism to become a force if he can continue to develop, after making major strides in maturity in overcoming some off-the-field struggles including the sudden death of his mother in 2012. Brinkley rebounded from a serious knee injury in 2007 at South Carolina to be drafted in the fifth round by the Vikings in 2009. After missing the entire 2011 season following major hip surgery, Brinkley bounced back again to become a first-time NFL starter in 2012. He hit free agency the next year and signed with the Cardinals. Brinkley played in 15 games last season and started when Pro Bowl pick Darryl Washington served a suspension for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy, but the Cardinals cut him last month to create more space under their salary cap. So hes used to playing under this type of prove-it circumstance. "They let me know the jobs wide open and its not going to be handed to anybody," Brinkley said. "Everybody has an equal opportunity to earn that spot." As the depth chart currently stands, prior to the actual opening of the free agent market and of course the draft, Brinkley will be in competition with Audie Cole for the starting middle linebacker spot. In the "Tampa Two" defence the Vikings used to use, linebackers had deep drops in zone pass coverage and Brinkley was sometimes exploited. Brinkleys skill set ought to better fit the scheme under new coach Mike Zimmer. "Minnesota has always been home for me. It has a significant place in my heart. I was raised on the frozen tundra," Brinkley said in a phone interview with the AP, foreshadowing the wintry conditions the Vikings could experience late this year at the University of Minnesotas outdoor stadium while their replacement for the Metrodome is under construction. From former Cincinnati cornerback Johnathan Joseph, a fellow South Carolina alumnus, Brinkley received a favourable report of Zimmer, who was Josephs defensive co-ordinator with the Bengals. "Hes a defensive guy. Hes a straight shooter. Hes going to tell you how it is. He does magical things with his defensive guys," Brinkley said. Rashad Vaughn Bucks Jersey.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes have activated defenceman Joni Pitkanen from injured reserve. Thon Maker Bucks Jersey.Fiji striker Roy Krishna scored in the 14th minute to give Wellington its fourth win, along with a draw, from its past five matches, putting the Phoenix fourth but only a point behind third-placed Adelaide. http://www.nbabucksproshop.com/Authentic-Oscar-Robertson-Bucks-Jersey/.J. -- Fabian Johnson scored his first international goal and Clint Dempsey doubled the lead after a defensive lapse as the United States beat Turkey 2-1 Sunday in the second of three World Cup warm-up matches for the Americans before they head to Brazil. Ray Allen Jersey. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The mother of former Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher filed a wrongful-death laws

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The mother of former Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the team Tuesday after exhuming his body so that his brain could be examined for evidence of a degenerative condition linked to repeated concussions. The lawsuit, filed by Cheryl Shepherd in Jackson County (Mo.) circuit court, alleges Belcher was subjected to "repetitive head trauma," and that the Chiefs failed to provide adequate medical care before Belcher killed his girlfriend and then committed suicide last December. Shepherd is seeking a jury trial and judgment "in excess of $15,000 for actual damages, punitive damages, and/or aggravating circumstances, for the cost of this action, and for such relief as the court deems fair and reasonable." Belchers body was exhumed at a cemetery in Bay Shore, N.Y., at his familys request earlier this month so that his brain could be studied for chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative neurological condition. CTE has been linked to multiple concussions and includes symptoms such as memory problems, behavioural changes and eventually dementia. CTE has made headlines in recent years with the deaths of some former professional athletes, including former Chargers linebacker Junior Seau and former Bears safety Dave Duerson. Shepherds lawsuit claims the Chiefs failed to warn her son of the short-term and long-term risks of concussions; failed to identify and remove Belcher from practice or games after sustaining head trauma; failed to educate Belcher about concussions; failed to monitor or treat Belcher for neurological dysfunction; and failed to provide appropriate counselling. According to the lawsuit, Belcher was knocked unconscious during a game against Jacksonville in 2009 but did not receive adequate treatment before returning to team activities. On Dec. 1, 2012, Belcher shot to death his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, while Shepherd was caring for his infant daughter in a nearby room. Belcher then sped from the residence to the Chiefs training facility, where he shot himself in the head in the parking lot. A spokesman for the Chiefs told The Associated Press on Tuesday night that the team was aware of the lawsuit. He could not comment further because of the pending litigation. The Chiefs are already the subject of a workers compensation lawsuit filed on behalf of several former players who claim the Chiefs hid the risks of permanent brain injuries from repeated concussions from 1987-93, when there was no NFL collective bargaining agreement in place. In August, the NFL reached a tentative $765 million deal to settle lawsuits filed by more than 4,500 former players who developed dementia or other concussion-related health problems they say were caused by football. The settlement, subject to approval by a federal judge, would apply to all past NFL players and spouses of those who are deceased. However, several former Chiefs players found a 2005 amendment to the workers compensation statute in Missouri allowing employees to sue employers in civil court if the employees declined workers compensation. The window allowing such suits to be fired was due to expire in December. The lawsuit was originally filed on behalf of five former Chiefs players, but several others have added their names to the case, bringing to 22 the number of players involved. The lawsuit claims the Chiefs ignored decades of scientific research indicating repeated head trauma causes permanent brain damage. It also claimed the Chiefs increased their risks by giving them "ammonia inhalants, caffeine cocktails and/or (anti-inflammatory drug) Toradol to abbreviate the need for concussed employees to miss working time due to a brain injury." Players were even more prone to head injuries, the lawsuit said, because of the concrete-like AstroTurf surface that was in place until 1994 at Arrowhead Stadium. "Certainly, Hall of Famers who contributed greatly to building the franchise add to the urgency for the team to find a just resolution, rather than try to ignore it or act like they had nothing to do with it," said Ken McClain, a lawyer whose firm is representing the plaintiffs. Marshawn Lynch Youth Jersey. LOS ANGELES -- Pablo Sandoval moved into the cleanup spot and broke out of his slump. Sandoval and Hector Sanchez hit RBI singles in the 10th inning, and the San Francisco Giants recovered to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 Sunday after closer Sergio Romo gave up a tying homer to Hanley Ramirez. "Im happy, but Im not satisfied. I just want to do better for my teammates and the team," Sandoval said. "Youve got to keep focused and keep working hard, because everything is going to come back. So I dont worry too much about it. I just try to stay positive and keep fighting and have the faith that I can do it." Sandoval, who began the day hitting .173, was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. His other six RBIs this season came when he was batting third. "He was pretty excited about where he was hitting today, and he asked me how much I had to drink last night," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "I know its been frustrating for him, but hes been making better contact, and it just seems like hes got some confidence going. More than anything, hes got a little bit of a swagger right now, and hes got to keep that. Hopefully this will be something he can build on." San Francisco needs Sandoval to start producing in the middle of the lineup, especially with Brandon Belt sidelined for at least six weeks because of a broken thumb. "It was nice to see him go out there and get three knocks," Giants pitcher Tim Hudson said about Sandoval. "You know the great player is in there. And for him to get back to being that great player, its between the ears. Once he gets a little confidence going and believing in himself, hell be OK. We believe in him, and its something weve been saying for a long time." Sandovals run-scoring double in the first against Clayton Kershaw ended an RBI drought of 20 games and 68 at-bats for the switch-hitting third baseman since April 16 against the Dodgers. It was only the third hit with a runner in scoring position in a span of 27 at-bats for Sandoval, who clapped his hands as he went into second base standing up. "When you get the RBI to get ahead in the first inning against a tough pitcher like that, you have to be happy," Sandoval said. "Im happy that were winning and that were in first place." Brandon Hicks hit a two-run shot against the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner, and Buster Posey had an RBI single for the NL West leaders, who beat the defending division champions for the seventh time in 10 meetings this season. The Giants finished their road trip 7-3 and played errorless ball over the last five games. Romo (3-0) came on in the ninth to try and protect a 4-2 lead for Hudson. The right-hander struck out Yasiel Puig after a one-out double by Dee Gorrdon, but Ramirez lined his fifth homer to left field on an 0-1 pitch.dddddddddddd The blown save was Romos first this season in 13 chances. Angel Pagan drew a leadoff walk in the 10th from Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen (0-2). Hunter Pence singled and both runners advanced on a wild pitch before Posey was intentionally walked. Sandoval and Sanchez delivered clutch hits, then Posey scored on J.P. Howells wild pitch. Jean Machi got three outs for his first major league save. Hudson allowed two runs and eight hits over six innings, including a leadoff homer in the sixth by Puig that extended his career-best hitting streak to 11 games. The right-hander went fewer than seven innings for the first time in eight starts this season. Kershaw allowed three runs and seven hits in his third start of 2014 and first at Dodger Stadium. The three-time defending major league ERA champ struck out nine and walked none in his second outing since coming off the disabled list. He also had nine Ks and no walks last Tuesday at Washington, when he pitched seven scoreless innings in an 8-3 win. Sandoval led off the seventh with a single and Hicks followed with his seventh homer, a drive to left field on an 0-2 curveball. The Giants have 45 homers through 38 games, their highest total at this stage of a season since 2001 (51). Hicks also went deep Thursday against Josh Beckett in the Giants series-opening win. "Its frustrating," Kershaw said. "The team played so well and we battled all day. Guys were making plays, getting big, clutch hits, moving guys over and playing the game the right way. So for me to give up that home run after just getting the lead right back is disappointing. Ive got to shut the door right there." Los Angeles grabbed a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Puig drove Hudsons first pitch of the inning into the Dodgers bullpen in left to tie it 1-all and flipped his bat after making contact. "It is what it is. I mean, boys will be boys," Hudson said. "Hes an emotional player and he hit the (stuffing) out of it. I probably would have flipped the bat, too." Ramirez then legged out a double and Adrian Gonzalez followed with an RBI single that ended a 2-for-33 slide. Gonzalez tried to score from second on Drew Buteras single to centre, but Pagan threw him out at the plate. NOTES: Beginning with Monday nights game against the Marlins, fans entering Dodger Stadium will be going through metal detectors at selected gates for a limited number of games the rest of the season. The new security measures, which Major League Baseball is implementing in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security, are expected to be in all big league ballparks by next year. ... The Giants dont return to Dodger Stadium until Sept. 22. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

The red-hot Toronto Blue Jays take aim at their seventh straight win on Monday when they open a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays at Rogers Centre. Toronto has moved two games up on the New York Yankees in the American League East and is atop the division this late into a season for the first time since July 6, 2000. The Jays enter this matchup on the heels of an impressive three-game sweep of the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics. On Sunday, J.A. Happ tossed seven shutout innings, Jose Bautista knocked in two runs and Toronto rolled, 3-1. Happ (4-1) scattered four hits, walked three and struck out seven, and Edwin Encarnacion homered in the Blue Jays ninth win in 10 tries. "Were playing together as a team, pitching good," Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes said. "Good defense behind the guys, timely hitting, winning teams do that kind of stuff." The Blue Jays lead the majors with 70 home runs and have homered in eight straight contests. They havent homered in nine consecutive contests since April 27-May 5, 2012. One player who wouldnt mind a few longballs on Monday is righty Drew Hutchison, wholl be shooting for his third straight win. Hutchison followed up his first-ever shutout by beating the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday to improve to 3-3 with a 3.45 ERA. Hutchison has split two starts versus the Rays, pitching to a 5.79 ERA in those meetings. Tampa, meanwhile, will counter with veteran lefty Erik Bedard, who is 2-2 with a 2.63 ERA. Bedard has filled in nicely for the Rays in the wake of injuries to Matt Moore and Jeremy Hellickson and is 2-1 with a 0.96 ERA over his last five starts. Bedard, though, absorbed the loss to Oakland on Wednesday, as he surrendered three runs (1 earned) and just one hit - a home run - over 5 1/3 innings. He also walked three batters. Tampa comes into Mondays opener playing its best baseball of the season as well. The Rays swept the Boston Red Sox over the weekend and have won four in a row. Tampa completed the sweep on Sunday, as Sean Rodriguezs three-run, pinch-hit homer helped power a five-run seventh inning, and Tampa Bay sent the Red Sox to their 10th consecutive loss with an 8-5 decision. Evan Longoria went 3-for-5 with a homer and a pair of runs scored, and Yunel Escobar drove in two while setting off a benches-clearing incident late in the contest. The contentious victory was also Joe Maddons 700th as Rays manager. Joel Peralta (2-3), who blew a two-run lead in the seventh but was rescued by the Tampa offense, was credited with the win. Leading by five in the seventh, Escobar stole third and the Red Sox bench started jawing at him from the dugout. He talked back and started walking toward their bench, before Johnny Gomes ran in from left field and both benches cleared. Gomes, Escobar and Rodriguez were all ejected after the incident. "What was the score, 8-3? It was a five-run lead in the seventh inning. So thats not even nearly as egregious as last year in the playoffs," Maddon said of the incident. Tampa has split four games with the Jays this season. Haason Reddick Womens Jersey. Abduraimova had not won a tour-level match since 2009 but was a wild-card entry in Tashkent and broke her opponent twice in each set to reach the second round. LONDON -- Non-league Kidderminster will take on Premier League struggler Sunderland in the FA Cup fourth round after beating Peterborough 3-2 on Tuesday, while Fulham advanced with a 3-0 defeat of Norwich. Fifth-tier Kidderminster, which shares the FA Cup record for a non-league team after reaching as far as the fifth round in 1994, came from behind after Tommy Rowe opened the scoring for the League One club on a night of replays. Goals from Michael Gash and Jack Byrne within the space of five minutes after the restart put Kidderminster in front and Joe Lolley sealed victory after Britt Assombalonga had levelled for the hosts. The sides drew 0-0 earlier this month. Delighted with Lolleys winner, Kidderminster coach Andy Thorn said: "It was a superb strike. He had to do it because he gave the ball away for the penalty and if he had been near me I would have jumped on him." After a poor run of league form that has left it 16th in the standings, Fulham returned to winning ways courtesy of goals from Darren Bent, Ashkan Dejagah and Steve Sidwell in the only all-Premier League replay. Their earlier tie had finished 1-1. Fulham will next travel to League One side Sheffield United. New coach Rene Meulensteen praised Fulhams defensive efforts and was particularly pleased by the clean sheet. "We know its an area we need to work address," he said. "We work ever so hard at it and made it onne of our main targets today to make sure we were more solid, maybe a little less adventurous, to make sure we shut up shop.dddddddddddd" Wigan, which was relegated from the Premier League after winning the cup last May, was 1-0 down until the 79th minute against MK Dons -- before an equalizer from Nick Powell paved the way for a 3-1 win after extra time. Luke Chadwick put the Dons ahead after 10 minutes before Powell grabbed the equalizer for the holders from Chris McCanns cross. He scored again in extra time and Marc-Antoine Fortune added the third. Fifth-tier Macclesfield, the lowest-ranked team left in the competition, had its run abruptly ended by Sheffield Wednesday in a 4-1 defeat at Hillsborough. Wednesday needed only three minutes to open the scoring as Scotland international Chris Maguire cut inside two players and sent a fine shot into the corner. A 65th-minute penalty from Scott Boden brought Macclesfield back in the game, but Jacques Maghoma scored with 12 minutes to go before further goals from Jermaine Johnson and Miguel Llera put the result beyond doubt. Elsewhere, Watford defeated Bristol City 2-0 and Birmingham beat Bristol Rovers 3-0 while Championship club Bournemouth earned a prestigious tie at Liverpool after routing Burton Albion 4-1. Last seasons runner-up Manchester City plays Championship side Blackburn at home in Wednesdays only replay after they drew 1-1. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Matt Brocklebank runs the rule over the Cheltenham Gold Cup, with Don Cossack fancied to justify favouritism. Don Cossack heads the betting for the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup and has been given the vote of confidence from jockey Bryan Cooper, who prefers the Gordon Elliott-trained nine-year-old over Willie Mullins Don Poli. Racing legend Sir Anthony McCoy tells Sky Sports just what it takes to win the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Will it be the right choice by the jockey, or can Cue Card complete an illustrious treble and bring up the £1million bonus? Heres our A-Z guide to the field for the 3m2f70y Grade 1 contest. CARLINGFORD LOUGH (Jockey: Barry Geraghty)Recent form: 19-461 Carlingford Lough (left) beat Road to Riches to the Irish Gold Cup Dual winner of the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown, where he slammed Road To Riches by 12 lengths, but has come up short on two previous visits to the Cheltenham, including when a well-held ninth to Coneygree in this race. This years renewal looks a shade stronger if anything and a place probably his best hope.Rating: 6/10CUE CARD (Paddy Brennan)Recent form: 2-4111 Remarkable campaigner who romped to victory in the Champion Bumper here as a four-year-old and hes had a distinguished hurdling and chasing career since then. Right back to his very best this season and hes bidding to complete a £1m bonus treble having won the Betfair Chase and King George on his last two starts. Won the Ryanair Chase in 2013 on his last Festival visit and surely one of the most popular winners of the week should he prevail.Rating: 9/10DJAKADAM (Ruby Walsh)Recent form: 12-21F Djakadams jockey Ruby Walsh and trainer Willie Mullins in the parade ring after winning in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase Possibly the forgotten horse of the race having fallen when odds-on favourite here in January but certainly worth remembering it was he who chased home Coneygree in the big one 12 months ago. Looked as good, if not better, than ever when thrashing Valseur Lido in the John Durkan on his seasonal debut and at the age of seven theres every reason to believe he could have much more to offer.Rating: 7/10DON COSSACK (Bryan Cooper)Recent form: 111F1 Ended last season as the highest-rated chaser in training and this years form gives us no reason to doubt his talent. One blip was a late fall when appearing to be mounting a strong challenge in the King George at Kempton and although not particularly impressive in his prep at Thurles in January, that came over an inadequate trip and on ground softer than he cares for. Some have questioned his Cheltenham record but had excuses when he was third in last years Ryanair and hes the one they all have to beat with Cooper opting to ride him over Don Poli.Rating: 10/10DON POLI (Davy Russell)Recent form: 11-511 Bryan Cooper and Willie Mullins (right) with Don Poli Hugely talented seven-year-old who doesnt do anything flashy but gets the job done more often than not, winning five of his six chase starts to date. Most of his form is on soft going but did win the RSA Chase here on good 12 months ago and hes bound to be staying on strongly up the hill. But will he be quick enough to maintain his place when the tempo increases?Rating: 8/10IRISH CAVALIER (Paul Townend)Recent form: 42155P Irish Cavalier ridden by Paul Townend (left) jumps the last ahead of Annacotty ridden by Ian Popham (right) Won the novices handicap chase at the meeting last year and added to his tally at Newton Abbot in October. Found life tough since, though, and pulled up when last seen on heavy ground here in January. Loads to prove in Grade One company and yet to fully convince over a staying trip so plenty of reasons to look elsewhere.Rating: 2/10OFAOLAINS BOY (Noel Fehily)Recent form: 5/P1P8 Noel Fehily riding OFaolains Boy to win The David Martin Graduation Steeple Chase at Newbury Had a long time off after enjoying a good 2013/14 campaign, when he beat Smad Place narrowly to claim RSA Chase glory at the Festival. Very in-and-out since returning and while his wide-margin win at Newbury in December suggested he was back on an upward trajectory, two flops since, including over hurdles last time, temper enthusiasm. Hard to see him being good enough to contest the finish.Rating: 2/10ON HIS OWN (Patrick Mullins)Recent form: 97U482 Davy Russell on Lord Windermere (R) won from David Casey on On His Own (centre) in the 2014 Gold Cup Grand old servant to the Mullins yard and his finest hour came here when beaten a short-head by Lord Windermere in the 2014 renewal of the Gold Cup. Hes being aimed at the Grand National and looked on good terms with himself when second behind Boston Bob at Fairyhouse recently but hell need others in this line-up to seriously disappoint if hes to lift the top prize here.Rating: 3/10ROAD TO RICHES (TBC)Recent form: 13-312 BJ Cooper on Road To Riches (left), eventual winner Ruby Walsh on Vautour and Richard Johnson on Village Vic clear a jump in the Ryanair Chase Third in the Gold cup last season and has kept up a very strong level of form this term but he ran in the Ryanair Chase on Thursday and doesnt look likely to take part.Rating: 5/10SMAD PLACE (Wayne Hutchinson)Recent form: 4-1141 Popular grey who went close at the Festival in the World Hurdle a couple of times before pushing OFaolains Boy close in the 2014 RSA Chase. Wasnt anything like his best throughout most of the last campaign but returned to action with a Kempton win in November and followed up in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury. Only fourth when different tactics were adopted in the King George at Kempton but back to peak form with a thrilling front-running win over this course and distance in January. Looks a strong pace angle here but drying ground and stronger opposition the slight nagging doubts over his claims.Rating: 7/10VERDICT: Few would rule out Cue Card winning the £1million bonus after the season hes had already and the reception Sprinter Sacre received on Wednesday could even be matched should Colin Tizzards popular chaser do the business in Fridays feature. But Don Cossack looked like he could have taken his measure in the King George before falling two fences from home and the drying ground has come good for Gordon Elliotts highly-regarded charge. Hes the pick of Bryan Cooper and is strongly fancied to open his Cheltenham Festival account at the third time of asking. Also See: Bet now at Cheltenham! The bullpen came through on Sunday against the last-place Cubs. Matt Kemp homered and had four RBIs, Yasiel Puig scored a career-high four times and the NL West-leading Dodgers used six pitchers to beat Chicago 8-5. "Its a good feeling in this clubhouse right now finishing up with Chicago because its a scrappy team and they gave us all we could handle for four games," said Jamey Wright, who made a spot start. "They fought and those are scary teams to play this time of year, teams playing spoiler." Wright made his first start since Sept. 1, 2013, with the Rays, allowing a run and three hits in two innings. He said he hoped to last five or six innings, but the Dodgers told him he was done after throwing 46 pitches. "Anytime you come out with a W on a bullpen day thats a great day," Wright said. Kemp had four hits for the Los Angeles, which clinched a playoff berth on Friday and have a 4 1-2 game lead over the Giants heading into a three-game series at Dodgers Stadium that begins Monday. Chris Perez (1-3) struck out two in 1 1-3 innings for his first victory since Aug. 14, 2013. And Kenley Jansen earned his 43rd save in 48 chances. Welington Castillo homered for the last-place Cubs, who pulled within a run in the fifth. The Dodgers had 16 hits, and the teams combined for 59 runs during the four-game series. "I thought we kind of went toe to toe with them a little bit here," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said. "Even as young as we are, I thought we held our own." The Cubs avoided a sweep by overrcoming two five-run deficits to win 8-7 on Saturday.dddddddddddd "Im happy about today especially after yesterday was a little bit of a kick in the gut when you have a lead and give up six in the last two innings," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. Jacob Turner (5-11) allowed five runs in five innings in his fifth start for the Cubs since he was acquired from Miami on Aug. 8 for two Class-A pitchers. The Dodgers went ahead in the first on Adrian Gonzalezs and Hanley Ramirezs RBI doubles. Gonzalezs 112 RBIs lead the majors. Kemps two-run home run -- his 23rd -- extended the Dodgers lead to 4-1 in the third. Puig remained in the game after an awkward slide in the fifth. His right foot appeared to catch in the dirt and he stopped short of the bag. After the trainer checked on him, Puig scored from second on Kemps single for a 5-2 lead. TRAINERS ROOM Dodgers: LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder inflammation) continues to progress after playing catch Saturday. .3B Juan Uribe returned to the lineup after sitting out Saturday with a lingering groin problem. Mattingly said the injury doesnt affect Uribes swing, but does give him problems in the field when he dives. UP NEXT Dodgers: Haren (13-11, 4.14 ERA) will start against Giants RHP Jake Peavy (6-4, 2.16) to open a three-game series Monday. Cubs: LHP Travis Wood (8-12, 4.86) will take the mound against Cardinals RHP Adam Wainwright (19-9, 2.45) to begin a three-game series Monday. RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY Rain fell about 30 minutes before first pitch. The grounds crew began to roll out the tarp, but quickly rolled it up again as the rain slowed. FORTALEZA, Brazil -- Georgios Samaras scored an injury-time penalty to send Greece into the second round of the World Cup for the first time with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast on Tuesday, eliminating the Africans in the process. Samaras was adjudged to have been tripped in the area by substitute Giovanni Sio, and calmly slotted in the spot kick for a win that puts Greece through to the knockout stage. Ivory Coast would have advanced with a draw. "This means so much to me, to us ... Tonight we had energy," Samaras said, dedicating the win to Greeks suffering through financial crisis. "We really hope we can make the people happy back home. We are a team. A team -- thats it." In Athens, where the game ended well after midnight, thousands of fans poured into the streets to celebrate. The players in Fortaleza danced around in a circle and sang with small groups of travelling fans at Arena Castelao who had been drowned out all night by the pro-African Brazilian crowd. The Greeks had taken the lead just before halftime through substitute Andreas Samaris, who punished Ivorian Ismael Tiote for a careless pass backward. Substitute Wilfried Bony equalized for Ivory Coast in the 74th, beating goalkeeper Pangiotis Glykos from close range after being set up by Gervinho. That goal looked like it would put the Africans through until the late drama. Samaras met a cross in the area and tried to shoot with his left leg, which got caught against the leg of Sio. Samaras foot then hit the ground and he fell to the turf, drawing a penalty. With his countrys hopes on the line, Samaras sent his spot kick past goalkeeper Boubacar Barry, who guessed the right way but couldnt keep the ball out. "We came here to advance from the group stage. Weve never done it before, and we did tonight in a great way," said Greece captain Giorgos Karagounis, a veteran of the team that won the European Championship in 2004. "The goal should have come earlier. So God helped us in the end and we all thank him. We prevailed against the odds. We had passion and we had fight." Veteran striker Didier Drogba started for Ivory Coast along with Yaya and Kolo Toure despite the recent death of their brother Ibrahim. The Ivorians wore black armbands as a sign of mourning. "The Ivory Coast is a great football nation. And this was a cruel game, a cruel game," Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi said. "After so much hard work and so much sacrifice, all of us and everyone in the Ivory Coast is very sad." Greece, which had failed to score in the previous two Group C matches, finished second in Group C with four points, behind winner Colombia with nine. Ivory Coast had three and Japan one. On Tuesday, the Greeks missed a handful of scoring chances against Ivory Coast, hitting the crossbar twice with shots from distance. The Greeks were also forced to make two early substitutions after valuable midfielder Pangiotis Kone and goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis were injured in the first half. "We found balance tonight. We are not the worst team when we lose or the best when we win," Greece coach Fernando Santos said. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Raptors have traded forward Steve Novak along with a second-round pick to the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Diante Garrett - who will then be waived. DETROIT -- Justin Tuckers powerful leg kicked the Super Bowl champions into playoff gear. Tucker made six field goals, including a franchise-record 61-yarder with 38 seconds left that lifted the Baltimore Ravens to an 18-16 win over the Detroit Lions in a Monday night matchup with major post-season implications. Ravens coach John Harbaugh chose to let Tucker try the longest kick of his career -- by 5 yards -- instead of going for it on fourth-and-8 from the Detroit 43. "If they send me out there, they have reason to," Tucker said. "Its because they think I can make the kick." Rookie safety Matt Elam sealed the victory with an interception -- Matthew Staffords third of the night -- after raising eyebrows during the week by calling 28-year-old Calvin Johnson "pretty old" and saying the plan was to make the star receiver uncomfortable by getting physical with him. Stafford threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Joseph Fauria with 2:21 left, putting Detroit up 16-15. But the Lions were unable to make a 2-point conversion and couldnt prevent Baltimore (8-6) from setting up its sensational kicker for his 33rd successful field goal in a row. Tuckers kick went just inside the right upright and barely had enough distance -- eight days after Denvers Matt Prater broke the NFL record with a 64-yard field goal. "I definitely felt like I got a lot of leg into it, but it jumped up so high I thought I might have gotten under it," Tucker said. Tucker, who hasnt missed a field goal attempt since he was 0 for 2 in Week 2 at Cleveland, has the NFLs longest streak since Matt Stover made 36 in a row for the Ravens from 2005-06, according to STATS. "What can you say about Justin Tucker?" Harbaugh said. "When we got the ball there, I think at the 45-yard line, I said, Hey, are we kicking this? ... He said, I got it." He sure did. Moments after his clutch kick, Tucker mentioned in a television interview that his big night also benefited his fantasy football team. More importantly, his real club won its fourth straight game and maintained control of an AFC wild card as the Ravens seek their sixth consecutive post-season berth and a chance to defend their Super Bowl title. Detroit (7-7) has hurt its playoff chances by losing four of five, falling out of sole possession of first place in the NFC North to third behind the division-leading Chicago Bears and Green Bay. "This is a setback, no question," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. "We had control and now we need help. We have to get two wins and let the rest shake out." Staffords three interceptions followed a troubling trend for the franchise. He has 12 turnovers, including two fumbles, in his last five games. Not coincidently, the Lions have been able to overcome those miscues well enough to win only one game during the slump. Joe Flacco, meanwhile, didnt turn the ball over and made enough subtle moves in and around the pocket to get sacked only once. He has been sackeed a career-high 42 times this season, but he stayed upright enough to move the ball into position for Tuckers big kick.dddddddddddd Flacco was 20 of 38 for 222 yards, including a 27-yard pass to Jacoby Jones to convert a third-and-15 from the Baltimore 28 on the game-winning drive. Jones had six receptions for 80 yards, and returned Detroits last kick to the Baltimore 33. Stafford was 18 of 34 for 235 yards with a TD and three interceptions -- increasing his five-game total to 10 -- for a season-low 48 quarterback rating. "This was certainly not my best game," he acknowledged. Johnson had six receptions for 98 yards and dropped two possibly pivotal passes thrown his way in the first half. "We just put every guy on him to try to stop him," Elam said. "It was no disrespect meant to Calvin. Hes the best in the league, so why would I challenge him? Words just got stirred up." The Lions started strong, with Reggie Bush running for a 14-yard touchdown on the opening drive. Detroit, though, got in its own way as it often has this year. Johnson dropped a pass that wouldve converted a third-and-15 deep in Ravens territory. On the ensuing drive, Tucker kicked his first of three field goals in the first half -- two of which were set up by penalties against Detroit. Tuckers next field goal was set up by a pass-interference call against safety Don Carey. Johnson couldnt catch another pass in Baltimore territory thrown at him late in the first half. The Ravens took advantage of that mistake and one by Detroits defence on the next drive. Flacco threw an up-for-grabs pass on third-and-8 from the Lions 44 after avoiding a sack, and the incomplete pass was negated by Louis Delmas helmet-to-helmet hit on Marlon Brown with 16 seconds left in the first half. That flag put the Ravens 15 yards closer to Tuckers field goal that gave Baltimore a 9-7 lead at halftime. Detroit drove to the Ravens 31 on its first possession of the second half, but Stafford threw a pass behind Bush that was picked off by defensive end DeAngelo Tyson. Baltimore went ahead 12-7 on the next drive on Tuckers 49-yard field goal midway through the third quarter. The Lions scored on the ensuing drive -- on David Akers 40-yard kick -- for the first time since the opening minutes of the game. The field goal came after Staffords pass into the end zone fell incomplete. A replay showed Detroit receiver Kris Durham had his arm held on the play by Lardarius Webb, but there was no penalty flag for pass interference. Tuckers 53-yard field goal -- matching his previous season high -- put the Ravens ahead 15-10 with 8:06 left. Detroit responded with its best drive since its first one. The Lions might have caught a break from the officials when Brandon Pettigrews catch was upheld after review. NOTES: Tuckers 56-yard field goal last year -- as an undrafted rookie -- matched the previous franchise record set by Wade Richey in 2003. ... Bush had 101 yards of total offence. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Regina, SK - The first week of the 2014 CFL regular season draws to a close tonight when the defending Grey Cup Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders take the field against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Mosaic Stadium. Watch the action live on TSN and TSN GO at 7pm et/4pm pt. This is a replay of the 101st Grey Cup from November, when the Roughriders delivered a convincing 45-23 thrashing of Hamilton in front of nearly 45,000 fans. The Riders, led by head coach Corey Chamblin, would like nothing more than to get off to the same type of start that they had a year ago when they rattled off five straight victories and captured eight of the first nine outings overall. The team did stumble slightly down the stretch with back-to-back defeats to close out the regular season and suffered a four-game slide during the month of September, but the club proved to be resilient, finishing 11-7 overall, but taking home the Grey Cup when all was said and done. The third-leading passer in terms of yards last season with 4,154, Darian Durant is back under center for Saskatchewan as it begins the quest for back- to-back titles, something that has happened only once in the last 15 years. Durant, who has been with the Riders for his entire nine-year CFL career, tossed a personal best 31 touchdowns and finished with an efficiency rating of 95.7. In 2013, Durant had a trio of top-notch receivers who he relied heavily on, but one of those, Weston Dressler has since signed with the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL, leaving Chris Getzlaf and Taj Smith to carry more of the load this time around. All three posted at least 1,000 yards through the air, with Dressler leading the way with nine touchdowns. However, Getzlaf and Smith both landed in the end zone seven times and the former averaged a hefty 16.6 yards per catch. Another major change for the Riders is the departure of running back Kory Sheets, the most valuable player of the Grey Cup, as he signed with the NFLs Oakland Raiders. Sheets was second in the league with 1,598 yards and tied for the lead with 12 rushing scores, which means theres a huge void to be filled in the backfield for the club. A couple of newcomers, Keith Toston and Anthony Allen will be tasked with producing on the ground moving forward. Saskatchewan has to be pleased with the fact that they owned the toughest scoring defense in the CFL a year ago, allowing only 22.1 ppg, but that wont be easy to duplicate after losing Alex Hall. The defensive lineman placed second in the league with 16 sacks, but like many successful CFL performers, he too has latched on with an NFL squad (the Carolina Panthers) for the time being. On other side, the Tiger-Cats were the opposite of Saskatchewan through the first month of last season, winning just a single game in five tries. But the group did finish strong with four wins in five opportunities before, putting up a 10-8 mark, before defeating Montreal and Toronto in the playoffs. Kent Austin, the head coach, general manager and vice president of football operations for Hamilton, does have a major issue to clear up this time around with respect to his quarterback. Last year he watched Henry Burris tear up defenses for a league-best 4,927 yards, but this time around he will have to find a leader in either Zach Collaros, Dan LeFevour or Jeremiah Masoli. Collaros has the most experience of the three after spending a couple of years with Toronto, but he is still a major work in progress. LeFevour finished with almost as many rushing yards (317) as passing (394) with the Cats last year while Masoli attempted a grand total of just two passes for the program in 2013. At least for this week, it doesnt help that receiver Andy Fantuz is on the injured list, because he was one of the top pass catchers in the game with 65 grabs for 896 yards. That leaves Bakari Grant as the primary focus down the field after he posted 69 receptions for 947 yards, but a mere two touchdowns a year ago. Running back C.J. Gable is capable of adding another dimension to the offense, having gained 782 yards and scored seven times on 130 carries in his first CFL campaign, but the squad will have to be careful not to run him into the ground too early. From a defensive perspective, there is plenty of work to be done for the Tiger-Cats after they finished with a minus-13 in the turnover department. The squad logged just 14 interceptions, second-fewest behind only a hapless Winnipeg group, which they turned into a league-low 142 return yards. Hamilton was also last in the CFL in sacks with just 35. Stretching back to 1961 and focusing only on games that took place during the regular season, Saskatchewan holds a slight advantage in the series with the Cats at 42-38-4. The Riders have taken four of the last five and a startling 17 of the last 20 matchups with Hamilton. Farid Diaz Jersey. -- Shanshan Feng was alone in her opinion about the pin positions in the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Felipe Aguilar Jersey. 31-Feb. 2. Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Austin Daye posted 22 points in a rare spot start, helping the San Antonio Spurs take down the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-93 on Saturday. Daye shot 8-for-13 and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds in his second start of the season to lead six Spurs in double figures. Patty Mills gave 19 points off the bench and Tim Duncan shot 5-for-6 for 13 points in limited minutes. Tony Parker and Cory Joseph netted 12 points apiece and Boris Diaw had 11 for San Antonio, which was without Kawhi Leonard (hand) for the 13th straight game. Manu Ginobili also sat out with a back injury after playing just 10 minutes in Fridays win over Phoenix. The Spurs have won four of their last five games, but are just 8-8 without Leonard this season. Zach LaVine paced Minnesota with 19 points off the bench, while Andrew Wiggins and Gorgui Dieng finished with 18 apiece. The Wolves made all 26 of their free throws to set a franchise record for most makes without a miss from the line. Wiggins has scored in double figures in 10 straight, though the Timberwolves have lost 15 in a row since beating Portland on Dec. 10. Daye scored five in a row at the back end of an 11-0 run towards the end of the first quarter. Joseph then drew a foul just before the horn, with his free throws giving the Spurs a 27-18 lead after one. They won the next two quarters by a combined 11 points to take a 20-point lead into the fourth. Minnesota got within 13 points midway through the fourth and had two opportunities to cut its deficit to 10, but Robbie Hummel and Troy Daniels missed 3s on consecutive possessions. LaVines three-point play made it 100-89 with 2:04 remaining, but it was too late for Minnesota to mount a comeback. NEW YORK -- Alex Rodriguezs grievance hearing to overturn his 211-game suspension ended Thursday when both sides rested their cases, a day after the New York Yankees third baseman angrily walked out and decided not to testify in his own defence. The sides set a schedule to file briefs and reply briefs next month, which will close the record and submit the matter to arbitrator Fredric Horowitz. His decision on whether to uphold or alter the discipline for the three-time AL MVP likely will be made in January, a person familiar with the proceedings told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no statements were authorized. Rodriguezs lawyers already are vowing to challenge the ruling in federal court, where judges usually are reticent to overturn an arbitration decision unless there is a finding the arbitrator was biased, exceeded his authority or failed to comply with the rules agreed to by the parties. The exact timing of a decision is uncertain. Baseballs Joint Drug Agreement states the arbitrator shall make "all reasonable efforts" to close the record in time to permit a decision within 25 days of the start of the hearing. But in this case, the hearing began Sept. 30, making that timetable impossible to meet. After the arbitrator renders his decision, the written opinion is to be issued within 30 days. It is unclear if Horowitz will issue his written opinion simultaneously with his decision. The timing of the case could complicate planning for the Yankees, who dont know if they will have to pay Rodriguez his $25 million salary and are unsure whether they will need a different starting third baseman. Rodriguez was suspended by Major League Baseball on Aug. 5 for alleged violations of its drug policy and labour agreement stemming from the leagues investigation of the Biogenesis of America anti-aging clinic in Florida. The players association filed a grievance, and because Rodriguez was a first-time offender of the drug agreement, the discipline automaticallly was stayed pending a resolution of the grievance.dddddddddddd Horowitz heard the case in a trio of four-day sessions, with management presenting its case from Sept. 30-Oct. 3 and Oct. 15-18. Rodriguezs side then took its turn during the first four days of this week. While Horowitz had set aside six additional days for testimony through Wednesday, that time was not needed. Rodriguez left in the middle of the 11th session Wednesday, furious the arbitrator refused to order baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to testify. Rodriguez and his lawyers then went on radio and television, accusing Selig of bias and the entire arbitration process of being flawed. His lawyers returned without him Thursday to complete their case, and MLB started and finished its rebuttal. At the end of the hearing, the sides learned union head Michael Weiner had died from the brain tumour he was diagnosed with 15 months ago. Outside MLBs offices, representatives of the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, including state Sen. Ruben Diaz, held a prayer vigil to express opposition to Rodriguezs discipline. Rodriguez lawyer James McCarroll issued a statement Thursday pointing out that this case is the first grievance under the drug agreement involving discipline that didnt stem from a positive test and involved "the commissioners discretion and decision-making." While he said the commissioner in the past "was harshly criticized in the arbitrators decision for not voluntarily appearing at a grievance," that statement appears to refer to arbitrator George Nicolaus 1987 decision cutting Peter Ueberroths drug suspension of pitcher LaMarr Hoyt from one season to 60 days. While Horowitz has issued an order for the proceeding to be confidential, Rodriguezs lawyers have said they may release some of the evidence Friday. Rodriguez spokesman Ron Berkowitz said no decision had been made. "Its uncertain," he said. "Theyre still weighing their options of what they can and cannot release." Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

Seamus Coleman insists Everton must have a strong finish to the season if they hope to keep their squad together beyond the summer. Roberto Martinezs side are 12th in the Premier League after a disappointing campaign, especially at home where they have lost eight of their 16 matches.Everton do have an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to, and Coleman insists winning the cup will mark a successful season, but there is more to lose if they end up in the bottom half. Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Super Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1HD, Coleman said: Overall we just have not been good enough this season. At times as individuals, we have not turned up and that is disappointing from that aspect.I dont think anyone can say theyre happy with how its gone so far. Unfortunately at times we just have not been good enough and we want to now put that right for the fans. The cup run has been positive but the league hasnt been great by our standards and were all man enough to know that. Its disappointing not to be up there in the mix for the European places and, with the way the seasons gone, its been a missed opportunity. We need to get things right in the league and give the fans something to cheer. Everyone knows the potential we have and we need to win more games. You get closer to the transfer window and you see your name being linked with teams. Sometimes its speculation, sometimes its true. I cant speak for the other lads, for me personally I just get on with the job in hand.We dont want to finish in the bottom half of the table and we shouldnt be. Hopefully we can have a good finish, win the cup and keep everyone together. Coleman (left) is targeting victory in the FA Cup this season Evertons away form has been in complete contrast to their form at Goodison Park, with just one defeat on the road all season, but Coleman insists it has nothing to do with added pressure from home support.Every time you go on the pitch in the Everton jersey, home or away, theres pressure on you. I dont know if that pressure is an excuse because its the job were in, he said. Were going to Old Trafford on Sunday and, no matter what team or manager is there, its a big stadium and its always difficult going there. We have to focus on ourselves and put things right. Watch the full interview with Seamus Coleman as part of the Super Sunday build-up to Manchester United v Everton. Coverage starts at 12.30pm. CHICAGO -- There was a long slap shot, and then a nifty wraparound and a short-handed score off a 2-on-1 break. Once the Chicago Blackhawks started rolling, Ray Emery never stood a chance. Duncan Keith and Andrew Shaw scored in a 39-second span at the start of Chicagos five-goal second period Wednesday night, sparking the Blackhawks to a 7-2 victory over Emery and the Philadelphia Flyers. Patrick Sharp had a goal and two assists for Chicago, which has won three in a row after a three-game losing streak. Michal Handzus scored a short-handed goal in the second and Marian Hossa had three assists, helping rookie goaltender Antti Raanta win his second consecutive start in place of injured Corey Crawford. "We have a quiet confidence we can score goals," Keith said. "Our talk in the room is more about playing the right way, being good defensively, being hard on pucks, checking well. We know our offence is going to take care of itself if we play that way." The seven goals set a season high for the Blackhawks (23-6-5), who have scored 19 times during their winning streak and lead the NHL with 129 goals. Shaws sharp wraparound at 1:22 of the second made it six players with at least 10 goals for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who are once again on top of the league standings with 51 points. "Its a credit to our team game," Sharp said. "We know weve got guys in here that can put up big numbers and score goals. But when were playing well in all three zones, thats when our offence usually clicks." Emery was pulled in the third period of his first start in Chicago since he teamed with Crawford to give the Blackhawks one of the best goaltending tandems in the league last season. Emery went 17-1 with a sparkling 1.94 goals-against average during his second year with Chicago and then signed a free-agent deal with Philadelphia in July. He received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd when he was recognized on the overhead scoreboard during the first period. But his ninth start of the season took a turn for the worse wheen Chicago turned up the pressure in the second.dddddddddddd Jakub Voracek and Steve Downie scored power-play goals for the Flyers (13-15-3), who have lost three in a row and went 2-3-1 on a six-game road trip. "We made a few stupid mistakes," forward Wayne Simmonds said. "We werent looking behind our backs and when you play a team like that theyre going to capitalize." Voraceks wrister at 12:31 helped Philadelphia to a 1-0 lead after one period. The Blackhawks were coming off a 6-2 victory at Dallas on Tuesday night and looked a bit listless at the start of their first game against the Flyers since Jan. 5, 2012. That all changed in the second. Keith got it started with a big drive past Emery just 43 seconds into the period. Then came Shaws goal, and Handzus made it 3-1 when he scored his third on a break with Marcus Kruger. Downies third goal momentarily slowed the Blackhawks run. Kris Versteeg beat Emery off a terrific pass from Brandon Saad, and Sharps slap shot went off Jonathan Toews and in to make it 5-2 at 14:15. "Great second period for us," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said, "and it kind of went from there." Emery departed after Brent Seabrook scored on a slap shot 65 seconds into the third. Emery finished with 12 saves. "Youre going to be frustrated," Emery said. "Theres an old saying, You show me a good loser and Ill show you a loser." Raanta made 28 stops to improve to 5-0-1. He drew a large ovation from the crowd when he stopped Brayden Schenn and Michael Raffl on a pair of short-handed breakaways in rapid succession in the third. NOTES: Blackhawks F Bryan Bickell (lower body) skated Wednesday morning and could practice with the team on Friday. "Showed good progress," Quenneville said. ... The Flyers scratched LW Tye McGinn and defencemen Erik Gustafsson and Hal Gill. ... Defencemen Michael Kostka and Michal Rozsival, along with Crawford, were the Blackhawks scratches. Crawford is out with a lower-body injury. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '

SAN DIEGO -- Everth Cabreras sacrifice fly in the fifth inning scored the games only run, and the San Diego Padres topped the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 on Monday night despite managing just one hit. Tommy Medicas single in the second was the only hit for the Padres, who got solid pitching behind rookie Jesse Hahn (4-1) and four relievers to end Cincinnatis season-high five-game winning streak. Huston Street pitched the ninth for his 22nd save in as many chances for the Padres, who won for the second time this season after getting just one hit. They defeated Pittsburgh 3-2 on June 4, with Cabreras bunt single being the lone hit. Mat Latos (1-1) allowed one run, a hit and a walk over seven innings in absorbing the tough-luck loss against his former team. He struck out four. The Padres broke the scoreless tie in the fifth without the benefit of hit as Cabrera drove in Medica, who walked to open the inning and then stole the first base of his career. He took third when Cameron Maybin flied to centre, then scored on Cabreras deep fly to centre. Leaning on his slow curveball, Hahn struck out five straight batters in the first four innings and set his career high of nine through five innings. Over one stretch of 10 Reds put outs, nine were strikeouts. Hahn, who threw 97 pitches, didnt allow a run, with three hits and two walks in five innings. The Reds had the tying run in scoring position in the seventh inning when Devin Mesoraco doubled with one out to left-centre. Ryan Ludwick flied out to right, then Carlos Quentin made a sliding catch on his knees on Zack Cozarts fly ball to end the threat. In the eighth inning, pinch-hitter Skip Schumaker flied deep to centre with Maybin making the catch while crashing into the wall. The Reds loaded the bases with two outs in the second inning when Hahn hit Mesoraco, allowed a single by Ludwick and walked Cozart. But Latos struck out to end the inning. The Padres had only three baserunners in the game. Medica singled and advanced to second base on a wild pitch in the second inning, but was stranded when Maybin lined out and Cabrera flied out. Cabrera was left on base after a one-out walk in the eighth. NOTES: The Padres interviewed Logan White for their vacant general manager position. White is the Dodgers vice-president of amateur scouting. Cubs executive Jason McLeod, an ex-member of the Padres front office, removed himself from consideration for the job. . 2B Jedd Gyorko will have his cast removed from his left foot on Tuesday. Gyorko is out with plantar fasciitis. . RHP Andrew Cashner (sore right shoulder) was to meet with the teams medical staff to determine if he can resume throwing. . Reds 1B Joey Votto continues to play despite his strained left knee compromising him. "Hes certainly not 100 per cent," manager Bryan Price said. "We all know hes limited." . Reds Mike Leake (6-6, 3.41) faces Padres RHP Ian Kennedy (5-9, 4.01) on Tuesday night. Dustin Brown Jersey.com) - Longtime Senators star Daniel Alfredsson returned to Ottawa on Thursday to officially announce his retirement. Marian Gaborik Jersey. VANCOUVER - After a short break during the group stages of the World Cup, the Major League Soccer season gets back underway on Wednesday night with an all-Canadian clash at BC Place as Vancouver Whitecaps host Montreal Impact (live on TSN and TSN 690 at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt). The Whitecaps will look to pick up where they left off and cement a place in the Western Conference playoff places, while Montreal will be hoping for a much different story after an extremely disappointing start to the MLS season. Winning the Canadian Championship was the bright spot so far this year for an Impact team that sits bottom of the Eastern Conference. The Form: The Whitecaps enter the match unbeaten in their last seven matches (Won 3, Tied 4) while the Impact have won just twice all season and have only picked up two points from their previous six matches on the road. Vancouver needed a late penalty from Pedro Morales to rescue a point at Philadelphia in their last match, despite leading the game 2-0 at PPL Park. The Whitecaps have been having no trouble scoring goals, but will need to tighten up defensively if they are to build on their excellent start to the year. The Caps havent lost in MLS since April 12 when they were beaten 1-0 by LA Galaxy in California. Vancouver are unbeaten against Eastern Conference opposition so far this season. After beating Toronto FC to be crowned Canadian champions, and winning at home to high flying New England, Montreals revival came to a crashing halt with a 4-2 loss at home to DC United two weeks ago. Things have improved for the Impact since they started the season by taking just three points from a possible 21 through their first seven matches, but they will need to be consistently strong between now and the end of the year if they are to have any chance of getting into the playoff race. The Impact are currently eight points outside the playoff places. With only 13 goals in 13 matches, the Impact are the lowest scoring team in MLS, but the signing of Jack McInerney has proved to be an excellent addition. The Big Question: Will Montreals defence be able to cope with Vancouvers speedsters? The Whitecaps have caused plenty of problems for their opponents this year with lots of attacking options, and Chilean midfielder Pedro Morales proving to be the perfect set-up man. Striker Erik Hurtado has been leading the way in recent games with five goals in his last five matches in all competitions. Hurtado has shown the ability to cause defenders all kinds of problems with his strength and speed, and the Whitecaps can also call upon the pace of Kekuta Manneh and Darren Mattocks. In their last match before the break, Montreal defended poorly and conceded four goals at home to DC United, however, in their previous game, they managed to keep a clean sheet against a strong New England team. If the Impact defence isnt switched on from minute one, the Whitecaps young guns could take advantage. Montreal coach Frank Klopas has the chance to make changes in defence if he chooses, with the recent additions of Futty Danso from Portland, and former Sporting KC man Mechack Jerome. The Lineup: There are a few decisions for Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson to make with regards to his starting lineup. Captain Jay DeMerit came off injured in the tie at Philadelphia and is sidelined for six weeks. Robinson will choose from Andy OBrien, Carlyle Mitchell, Johnny Leveron and Christian Dean to fill the two central defensive places. At the other end of the pitch, it is possible the Caps could start with Mattocks and Manneh supporting Hurtado. Robinson has said he would love to see the three players start together at some stage and it is possible that this could be the occasion to try it. If not, one of the Whitecaps two Uruguayans, Sebastien Fernandez or Nicolas Mezquida, could get the start. With Marco Di Vaio and Justin Mapp expected to miss the match through injury, the Impact will be relying on McInerney and Andres Romero to provide a goal scoring edge. Both players have been in good form of late. McInerney has four goals in eight MLS appearances since joining the Impact from Philadelphia, and Romero had scored in his last three MLS matches. The most interesting decision for Montreal will be who Klopas decides to play in defence, and whether or not either Danso or Jerome will be handed an Impact debut. In midfield, Klopas could give a debut to 30-year-old Spaniard Gorka Larrea who played 90 minutes in the reserves against Harrisburg City Islanders last Friday. The Odds: This is only the third meeting between the two sides in Major League Soccer, with the Whitecaps having won both of the previous encounters. Montreal havent played a league match in Vancouver since losing 2-0 in the clubs inaugural MLS game in March 2012, but the Impact were celebrating after their last match at BC Place. A 2-2 tie last spring in the second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship saw Montreal lift the Voyageurs Cup. With Vancouvers strong home form and Montreals difficulties on the road the Whitecaps will be strong favourites heading in. Carl Robinsons team has lost just once at BC Place this season, while the Impact are yet to win away. DUBLIN, Ireland -- Brian ODriscoll put on a show to remember in his last home test by spearheading I

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Brian ODriscoll put on a show to remember in his last home test by spearheading Ireland to a 46-7 win over Italy at Lansdowne Road on Saturday and setting up their Six Nations closer in Paris next week as the title decider. While history counts against Ireland in Paris, where they havent won since 2000, ODriscoll said they have the momentum and ability to win their second Six Nations in 29 years at the expense of France. Ireland leads the standings with a points differential of plus 81, while next-best England, hosting Wales on Sunday, was at plus 21. "We go to France with huge positivity," he said. "Were capable of doing great things and we have to start next week by trying to win a second championship with this unit of players." ODriscolls final bow at home in an illustrious 15-year international career was his 140th test, making him world rugbys most capped player. He played for only 62 minutes, walking off to a standing ovation, but had a hand in three of Irelands four tries by then. After he left, Ireland poured in three more tries as Italy tired in having to make more than 200 tackles. Bemused by all the attention and embarrassed to be named man of the match, he addressed the packed crowd and the meaning of the day finally got to him. "I feel really humbled by the reaction today," he said, misty-eyed. "It seems a bit of a joke to get man of the match for 60 minutes. "Ive loved my time playing in this jersey and unfortunately it does have to come to an end, and Im glad Ive got to go out at home with a big win." It was a tribute to ODriscoll that he produced his best game of the championship in an emotionally charged atmosphere that ramped up when he led the team out. For the hour he spent in the game, he was in the middle of all the main moments. His no-look flick over his left shoulder sent flyhalf Jonathan Sexton, on the loop around, scampering past the bewitched defence and to the try-line just six minutes in. Coach Joe Schmidt called ODriscoll a magician. The man himself said, "I take as much satisfaction in setting up tries as scoring them, I have to these days, I dont tend to get too many myself anymore." The tackling on both sides took a quick toll: Tighthead prop Martin Castrogiovanni, extending his Italy caps record to 105, walked off with broken ribs, then Ireland scrumhalf Conor Murray with nausea. Italy contributed to the occasion with backplay that was genuinely threatening. When Ireland accidentally conceded possession on halfway, Italys attack appeared to die when the ball was jolted by Ireland wing Andrew Trimble. But ODriscoll booted the ball straight to Italy wing Leonardo Sarto, who blasted off. Sarto ran through fullback Rob Kearney and inside his winger brother Dave for the first try Ireland has conceded at home in the championship. After replacement scrumhalf Eoin Reddan almost scored from a solo dart, Sexton regained the lead for Ireland with a penalty for 10-7. With Italy on the ascendency heading toward the interval, it lost possession on the Ireland 22 and the hosts counterattacked. Rob Kearney surged to the Italy 22, Ireland went through the phases, and finally ODriscoll unlocked the defence in a crowd with a basketball pass to Trimble, who was too close to the line to be stopped. Ireland went to the break 17-7 up. Irelands third try came in the 53rd, a tap penalty leading to prop Cian Healy scoring with a helpful shove from Paul OConnell, then walking straight to the bench. ODriscoll found himself in space but, too slow to have a go, he ran across field looking for support, only to be levelled. After regaining his wind, he then featured in Sextons second try with another offload, a reverse flick to Rob Kearney, who fed brother Dave, who found Sexton inside. That was enough for Sexton, whose Racing Metro club thought he couldnt play with an injured thumb, and ODriscoll, who was replaced by Fergus McFadden, who scored a try as Italy ran out of gas. Further tries to replacement forwards Sean Cronin and Jack McGrath further overwhelmed Italy. Cheap Nationals Jerseys Authentic. Lisicki beat South African Chanelle Scheepers by a 7-5, 7-6 (7-1) margin. He was there all night for us on the defensive end, Chris Paul said. They did a good job of making us play at their pace, and we never got a chance to get a lot of consecutive stops. Luckily we got some down the stretch. The really good teams rely on defence to win games.Jordan had 19 rebounds against the Pacers in a 103-96 win at Indiana on Dec. 10.Thats what it came down to — getting stops and executing, said Jordan, who was one rebound short of his career high. My job for our team is to be a defender, rebounder, shot blocker, and to just be the back line for us. That means controlling the paint, grabbing all the loose balls and limiting teams to one shot.Paul had 20 points and nine assists, helping the Clippers win for the 11th time in 13 games. The Pacers, who snapped an eight-game losing streak with their 110-91 rout of the Lakers on Monday night at Indiana, dropped their seventh straight road game. David West and reserve C.J. Miles each had 17 points.Jordan is one of the best (offensive rebounders) in the league, Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. Youve got their 3-point game to worry about, you have Griffin to worry about, and you have Chris Paul on the lob to worry about. So even if you get a stop, Jordan is under the basket knocking people around. Thats why they are a great team. The Pacers led 85-81 with 8:50 to play, but they made only three field goals in the final 5:38 and Miles missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the final horn.Miles dunk gave Indiana a six-point advantage before the Clippers went on a 14-4 spurt that put them ahead 97-93 with 2:35 left. They made some toough plays down the stretch, and we werent able to make enough of them, West said.ddddddddddddGriffin paced the Clippers to a 52-51 halftime lead with 15 points. SAO PAULO - Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is worried the street protests that are planned during the World Cup could hurt his teams chances of winning the title. Scolari says that although Brazilians have the right to complain about the government and demand improvements, perhaps the protests wont be coming at the "right time." He said the protests "could, big-time" affect his players performance during the World Cup, although he will not prohibit them from talking about the subject during the tournament. In an interview with Globo TV late Sunday, Scolari also said Brazil should have done a better job in its preparations for the World Cup, and said he has already made up his mind on 21 of the 23 players of his squad. Violent anti-government protests erupted across Brazil last year as people took to the streets calling for better services and questioning the billions being spent on hosting the World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics. The protests have since diminished in size, but they are widely expected again in the run-up to this years football tournament. "I think the protests can happen," Scolari said. "If they are peaceful, then thats democracy. Everyone has the right to protest. But I dont know if its the right time." The coach had already tried to distance the national team from the protests during last years Confederations Cup, when the largest public demonstrations in a generation broke out at the start of the warm-up tournament. Protests happened in all six host cities at the time, although matches and teams were not directly affected as Brazil went on to win the title. The players openly talked about the protests last year and the coach said they will be allowed to do it again during the World Cup. "They are national team players and they are on a mission," he said. "They can express themselves and say look, I also want a better Brazil, but I dont want it to be something that causes problems to our environment." Scolari also criticized Brazils preparations for the World Cup, saying that the country wasted time and should have done more to get things ready more quickly. "We could have done a better job to take advantage of these seven years that we had to prepare everything that was going to be needed, from airports to roads to education," he said. "But we lost time and we now we are out of time." Scolari last week confirmed nine players who will make Brazils squad — David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires, Willian, Paulinho, Julio Cesar, Thiago Silva, Fred and Neymar — and on Sunday he said there are only two spots remaining in the team. "We are still making observations, there are a lot of things we are still looking at," he said. Scolari will announce the official 23-man squad on May 7. Seven possible alternates will be announced later. Brazil will play friendlies against Panama and Serbia just before the World Cup opener against Croatia on June 12. Pedro Chelsea Jersey UK.com) - Mikko Korhonen carded a 5-under 67 on Thursday to claim medalist honors at the European Tours Final Qualifying Stage tournament. John Terry Jersey UK. a€“ All signs point to the Maple Leafs having their top offseason acquisition in the lineup on opening night. http://www.chelseafcteamshop.net/matt-miazga-chelsea-jersey-uk/. -- Center Max Unger and tight end Zach Miller are both probable for the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday against the New York Giants and Percy Harvins recovery continues to be slow. Alexandre Pato Jersey UK. SEATTLE -- Collin McHugh didnt know he was starting Tuesday until late the night before. When he took the mound, he surprised just about everyone with his performance. McHugh struck out a career-high 12 in his season debut to lead the Houston Astros to a 5-2 win against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night, extending Seattles losing streak to eight games. McHugh (1-0) was told he was being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday and flew to Seattle. It wasnt until he got to the team hotel late Monday night that he found out he was going to start for the Astros on Tuesday. Before the game, Houston coach Bo Porter characterized McHugh as a "pitch to contact guy," but the Mariners made almost no contact. McHugh struck out the first three batters he faced to set the tone for his first win in 10 career starts. "That was outstanding. Thats what you call seizing the opportunity," Porter said. The right-hander didnt walk a batter, giving up three hits in 6 2-3 shutout innings. "I dont think anybody prepares to go out and strike out a bunch of people. But I knew I had pretty decent command today with two or three pitches," McHugh said. "It was really good to kind of get the proverbial gorilla off your back with a W." McHughs stuff caught the Mariners off guard as well, as they only reached second once against him. "He was a little different than the scouting report we got. He was 94 (miles an hour) with a pretty good cut slider," Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon said. "He threw exceptionally well tonight." The Astros offence gave McHugh plenty to work with, as Jason Castro and Chris Carter each hit homers to give Houston a 3-0 lead after two innings. Seattle starter Erasmo Ramirez (1-3) struck out eight over six innings and only allowed three hits, but they included the two costly homers. Three at-bats into the game, Castro just cleared the left field wall for a two-run homer, his fourth. Carter followed in the second inning with a shot to left that landed in the second deck for his first homer of the year. Seattles Dustin Ackley tried to counter with a deep ball to left in the bottom of the second, but Matt Dominguez made a leaping catch at the wall to end the inning. Dominguez added a homer of his own in the top of the seventh to give Houston a 4-0 lead. The Astros have now won two in a row after a seven-game losing streak, and their offence -- which entered Tuesdays game with a major league-worst .196 batting average -- is finally showing some signs of life. "Once the whole offence is flowing like it is the last couple games, you kind of get in a little groove with it," Dominguez said. "Its been nice being able to score some runs." McHughs 12th strikeout came against Robinson Cano to leadoff the bottom of the seventh, but Porter brought on reliever Raul Valdes with two outs in the inning. McHugh had thrown 89 pitches, well above his high of 73 pitches in his minor league outings this year. Valdes walked Kyle Seager and then gave up a two-run home run to Justin Smoak, Seattles only offence of the game. McHughs call up came after Scott Feldman was placed on the disabled list with biceps tendinitis. Feldman will miss at least one more start, possibly giving McHugh more chances to show what he can do. "He didnt do anything to hurt his chances of sticking around," Porter said. "He definitely earned his keep." NOTES: The crowd of 10,466 was the fifth-lowest in Safeco Field history. Six of the seven lowest crowds at Safeco have been matchups with the Astros, all coming since the start of last season. ... Seattle RHP Hisashi Iwakuma (finger) was scheduled to pitch in a rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Tacoma, but instead threw a simulated game at Safeco Field on Tuesday afternoon due to weather concerns. McClendon said the outing went well, and Iwakuma will have a rehab outing with Tacoma on Sunday. ... Astros RHP Lucas Harrell, designated for assignment on April 16, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Cheap Timberwolves Jerseys China. The result meant Juventus will spend the winter break three points clear of Roma after the league leader beat Cagliari 3-1 on Thursday.Milan remained seventh ahead of the rest of the weekends fixtures, but was provisionally two points behind third-place Napoli in their duel for the final Champions League spot. Cheap Timberwolves Jerseys. The Bulls seem to be getting along fine without him. D.J. Augustin scored 27 points in a start for Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson matched a career high with 26 filling in for Carlos Boozer as the Bulls improved to 7-2 since trading the popular Deng with a 98-87 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night. http://www.cheaptimberwolvesjerseys.com/. SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Georgetown-Syracuse basketball rivalry is back. The schools announced Tuesday theyve reached agreement on a four-year, home-and-home series starting in 2015. Georgetown will host the Orange at Verizon Center during the 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons, and the Hoyas will visit the Carrier Dome in 2016-17 and 2018-19. Specific dates have not been set. The first game of the renewal will be the first regular-season matchup between the teams since the Hoyas beat the Orange, 61-39, at Verizon Center to clinch the 2012-13 Big East regular-season title. The rivals went their separate ways when Syracuse joined the Atlantic Coast Conference last summer. The teams have met 90 times, with Syracuse leading the series 49-41. The Orange won the most recent game between the teams, 58-55 in the 2013 Big East tournament. Kareem Hunt Womens Jersey. After Andrew Romine served up two monster home runs in the inning, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said he thought Romine was one of the bright spots on the night, showing just how bad the series opener against the last-place Minnesota Twins went for the Tigers. Tanoh Kpassagnon Womens Jersey.com) - Will Conant booted a 39-yard field goal as time expired and Air Force played spoiler with a 27-24 win over 21st- ranked Colorado State on Friday. http://www.prochiefsauthentic.com/Youth-Kareem-Hunt-Elite-Jersey/. Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and assist, and the Blue Jackets edged the Rangers 4-3 in a shootout on Monday night. Former Blue Jackets star Rick Nash -- acquired in the deal that sent Dubinsky to Columbus -- did his best to lift the Rangers, but his two power-play goals were only enough to get New York even. He and Mats Zuccarello were stopped by Sergei Bobrovsky in the tiebreaker. "It wouldve been nice to get that other point," Nash said. "Weve got to come out a lot better, and we cant keep making mistakes that end up in the back of our net." Bobrovsky made 40 saves through overtime in his first action in over a month to backstop Columbus win at the end of a 2-2 road trip. "This was a good two points for us," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "Bob was great with big save after big save. Dubinsky was really big for us. He played a strong game." Mark Letestu and Ryan Johansen scored against Henrik Lundqvist in the shootout. "Im happy we got a point. We played well for 60 minutes," Lundqvist said. "The difference is I didnt stop the breakaways and (Bobrovsky) did -- one in the second and in the shootout. I have some work to do." Lundqvist had the night off Saturday when backup Cam Talbot won 7-1 at Toronto. Lundqvist is 2-1-1 since sitting for three straight games in late December. Nash had tied it 3-3 with his second of the night, and ninth of the season, at 6:55 of the third period as David Savard served a penalty for delay of game. Defenceman James Wisniewski also had a goal and assist, and Cam Atkinson scored on a second-period breakaway to help the Blue Jackets win. "Always good to end road trips on a high note," Wisniewski said. "Weve been coming together as a team more and more." Bobrovsky shined in his return from a 14-game absence caused by a strained groin. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner had been out since Dec. 3 but showed no rust in a matchup with Lundqvist -- the Vezina winner in 2012. The Rangers came away with a point because of Nash, acquired from Columbus in 2012. Brian Boyle cut the deficit to 3-2 at 4:53 of the third, and Lundqvist made 36 saves through overtime for New York, which hadd won three of four before returning home.dddddddddddd The game took a noticeable turn 21 seconds into the second when Rangers forward Chris Kreider drove Columbus defenceman Fedor Tyutin into the left-wing boards with a shoulder-to-shoulder hit that left Tyutin down on his stomach. Dubinsky skated over to challenge Kreider, but a fight didnt ensue. Kreider was given a major penalty for boarding and was ejected. Dubinsky received a minor for roughing. Tyutin left soon after and didnt return to the game. "I looked at the replay. He tried to stop just before," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said of Kreider. "It seemed like he stopped, and sort of a follow-through from their player. Anytime a guy gets pushed into the boards the way he did, the referees dont have much of a choice." Vigneault doesnt expect Kreider to be suspended. Richards, who said the team will know more about Tyutins status on Tuesday, called the injury "more of a charley horse than anything else." With the teams skating 4-on-4, Atkinson stole the puck from defenceman Anton Stralman at the New York blue line, and raced alone the other way. He received little resistance from Stralman and beat Lundqvist to restore Columbus lead at 2-1. Columbus didnt take further advantage of the three-minute power play. Just 27 seconds after Columbus killed a penalty, Dubinsky made a perfect pass from the left-wing boards across the Rangers zone to a streaking Wisniewski on the right side. Wisniewski fired a rising shot that got in under the crossbar to make it 3-1 with 3:13 left in the second. Bobrovsky stopped 15 shots in each of the first two periods. He denied Brad Richards at the right post with his pads when Richards took a pair of whacks at a loose puck. Benoit Pouliot was stopped earlier in the period on a breakaway. Nash tied it 1-1 when he snapped a rising wrist shot from the left circle that caromed in off the left post with 52.8 seconds left in the first.
